Anyone who thinks CBS will show anything other than "Stand Back"...well, you know.

Holy crap, this is exciting! I'm not a football fan whatsoever (well, if our Chargers were to make it to the big game, I would watch), but, regardless of who makes it to the superbowl I'm watchin' just to see Stevie. This is so cool.

"Stevie will be performing February 4th at the Superbowl XLI Pre-Game show on CBS."

Uuum...not to be the Negative Nancy here, but I took this to mean that the Pre-Game show will be aired on CBS, not necessarily Stevie's entire performance. I certainly hope we get to see it all, but I wouldn't be surprised if we only get a 30-second snippet while they cut to a commercial.

Then there's this:

John Fogerty and Kelly Clarkson?? Guess there's more than one tailgate party...

I don't know how many songs she will do but I think Stand Back will for sure be played. I don't think she should do Landslide or Dreams because they're slow songs. She needs to get everybody ready to party for the Super Bowl. Edge of 17 would be cool but I bet she won't do it.

Yeah I agree. I'm sure we'll probably see one song in its entirety, and the rest will probably be just for the crowd or heard in the background while J.B., Dan, Shannon and whoever to discusses the game. If you remember, Fleetwood Mac (minus Stevie) played at the Super Bowl pre-game show in 98 after the dance tour. I didn't even look for it because Stevie wasn't going to be there. I also remember seeing Sheryl Crow perform at one of the pre-game shows a few years ago and they let her sing three songs on camera. So I guess it depends on what the network decides.

And I predict she'll sing Stand Back, Dreams and Rock n' Roll.

damn I hope not. that would suck. maybe since she'll be filmed the whole time, it will make it to youtube or something.

If memory serves, I believe Fleetwood Mac was barely featured on the pre-game telecast back in '93. I only recall them playing "Say You Love Me," and even that was cut short by a commercial break. Ah... I do miss me some Christine!

I find it rather bizarre that Stevie would be asked to perform for a major football event; if anything her image is the total antithesis of football! She's not a country artist, she's not a "hot babe" dance pop performer, she's not an A-list R&B/hip hop artist, she's not a hard rocker, etc. Her core audience is not made up of beer-swilling frat boys or even beer-swilling desperate househusbands. I think the only sporting events that would be even remotely compatible with the Stevie demographic would be men's swimming, men's diving, women's tennis, women's golf, WNBA, men's amateur wrestling, ballroom dancing and synchronized swimming.

I do agree that she will perform three songs: "Stand Back," "Dreams," and "Rock n Roll." I think SB and/or RnR will be televised.

Well, that's encouraging!

I would love to see her do Rock and Roll on nat'l television - which would require CBS paying for the rights. But w/ all the $$ they make on commercials, they can afford it!

Honestly, out of Stevie's safe choices that she does, Stand Back is the best IMO. Its a fun song overall.

I know how many superbowl bets there are and how bizarre they can be. So I have one in honor of Stevie's appearance. here it is:

Odds that someone in the crowd will scream FREEBIRD so everyone can hear it.
