There is no such thing as an ugly beach! I grew up on the beach and now live in an area of NC that is about 3 hours from the coast. I would settle for your ugly beach any day.

You all live in such beautiful areas. Anyway, I went outside and snapped some pictures around my house. I'll take "town" pictures tomorrow.

This is the front of my house. My husband just painted it. We need to do some landscaping (pine straw, etc.) next:

These two are taken from my back deck. What I love about the deck is that you're up on the second story of the house so it feels like you're in the trees:

This is my twelve year old step-son's pumpkin materpiece. Should I be concerned?:

Jannie, you have a beautiful back yard. Is that all of your property?

Thank you- the first "tree" picture looks into my neighbor's yard, but the rest is ours.

nice crib Jannie!

I had every intention of bringing my camera along for a ride to snap "A Day in the Life..." but I forgot. I'll try to tomorrow.

What cute little towns you guys live in! My neighborhood is the epitomy of a suburb - blech. My dream is to eventually buy an older home, with lots of charm & character, with a bit of land in a slightly more rural area. Maybe in Conshohoken.

All these photos of your great towns makes me want to head out on a road trip. Here are a few pics of my hometown - the most southwesterly city in the continental USA - aka North Tijuana.

Thanks Paula. Imperial Beach is a nice quiet beach town but things could change with this announcement. They were here filming the pilot last month.

Deadwood" may be done as a series, but HBO will still have a David Milch show on its schedule next year.

The premium-cable network has picked up "John from Cincinnati," a mystery/family drama centered on a legendary surfing clan. HBO ordered 12 episodes of the show after seeing a rough cut of the pilot, which was co-written by Milch and "surf noir" author Kem Nunn.

Production on the series is scheduled to begin later this fall, with summer 2007 as the target premiere date.

"David Milch is one of the most original storytellers working in any format today," says Carolyn Strauss, president of HBO Entertainment. "We are honored to have him as part of the HBO family. The sky is the limit for his new series."

The story focuses on the Yost family -- former surfing champion Mitch (Bruce Greenwood, "Capote"), wife Cissy (Rebecca De Mornay, "The Practice"), their drug-addicted son Butchie (Brian Van Holt, "Threshold") and Butchie's son, Shaun (Greyson Fletcher) -- in Imperial Beach, Calif., a seaside town near the U.S.-Mexico border. The arrival of the title character (Austin Nichols, "Deadwood"), a mysterious young man seeking surfing lessons, shakes up the family's unhappy life.

"John from Cincinnati" also stars Matt Winston ("Teachers"), Ed O'Neill (Milch's "Big Apple," "Married ... with Children") and Luis Guzman ("Luis").

What a great idea Carrie. Kent looks like such a nice little town! I'll have to take pics of my town after I get back from my trip next week.

do you guys have any new pics to share? i have a few.

cool tree

weird models of downtown buildings lying behind the mill downtown. dunno why. they've been there for months.

downtown from across the river.

"star of the midwest" flour mill.

new downtown park, taken from under the bridge. the "park" (aka patch of grass) was built when they decided to reroute the cuyahoga through a smaller channel in order to speed up the water flow & promote cleaner water. i guess.

rivah.

more rivah, playing with shutter speed.

more shutter speed fun, cool how you can see the rocks through the water.

some ~hardcore~ graffiti.

and for those of you (amber) who have never seen a black squirrel, here is one in my front yard. it's blurry b/c i had to blow it up.

I don't have any. I live in a town with basically one street light, and I've already posted it there's nothing left to share.

maybe reviving the thread will get others to post though
