ethan, you're new here. hell, I'M new here - and check out my join date and number of posts. i can only speak for myself, but i wouldn't presume to come into a long-established, much-respected board and say it should be changed. this is the second thread of this nature you've posted (that i've seen) in the past month or so, no? if you don't like the ledge, don't come. if you like another forum better, stay there. don't try to make this one into another. i think most of the posters here think the ledge is quite perfect as is. it can actually be seen as a little insulting to suggest otherwise to the people who worked so hard to make this board what it is, and maintain it daily.

It was only a suggestion people, not an attack on the board...
And I happen to think this is quite a cool idea

i agree that people are making too big a deal out of this silly suggestion, but i don't like the idea. i think it puts too much emphasis on the popularity of threads instead of their actual content. just my $.02.

In other words, I don't really think the idea of posting being a competition, and something that you score points for and keep track of, and essentially score in such a way as to imply "interesting" and "not interesting" is necessarily the best idea. I mean, things like the aforementioned might not happen, but I can't help thinking they probably would. If I know my ledgies. I'm not actually sure whether people really care about being threadkillers, or making people's random lists, or posting a lot, but sometimes when people talk about it it seems like they do. Also, you can usually just tell if people like a thread or are interested in the subject. Sometimes good stuff gets lost or overlooked, and that sucks, but it all usually works out okay. I appreciate the rating and scoring of things as much as anyone, likely more, a lot more, but not in this case.

Ratings? Who cares?
On Seven Dunders, where I RARELY go(maybe once a month, when ya'all are being lazy with the posting!), I don't even know what the "Karma" is for, or how you do it.......... I mean, who CARES about that ****? It's stupid, and juvenile, IMO.
