ITA, SmthngOfADreamr. Normally I don't even post in response to all the Stevie bashing threads. I guess the reason I did this time was because like you said...it's gotten out of hand. What has it been--five(?) threads in one week? I just got tired of it. The subject is way past old. It's ancient.

......In all the interviews ever done with Stevie since her dealing with her addictions,her choices in life, what ever, she has been totally open and honest about it all......but above all SHE has taken the responsibility for her own actions ALWAYS. Her choices that she made no matter how good or bad , she didn't foist the blame onto others.........now she is using her experiences to warn others DON'T do what I did.....don't make the same mistakes... BUT ask her if she would ever want to turn back the clock and change things Stevie has always maintained that she wouldn't change a thing. You can't live your life with regrets......

How many people in the public eye can be that open and honest...the majority want to hide their past because of the shame of being an addict, alocholic, wife beater etc etc...

That is partly what draws people to Stevie, her humanity and her ability to 'talk' to people about the good and the bad in life and when it does all go wrong that there is hope, a light at the ned of the tunnel......all said through her music......
So for those who love her for the artist she is...we 'get' where she is coming from......perhaps it is not open to everybody to 'get' her. A mystery perhaps.....?????

A message to the ones who really detest Stevie and the ground she walks on........stop beating yourselves up about her, she has more talent than you will ever have in your little fingernail, more admiration and fans, oh and she continues to gather a following at quite an alarming rate amongst the younger generation who can't find musically what they are looking for in the continuous pop crap being churned out by record companies. Oh of course not forgetting her wealth she carries in her purse as loose change what your entire family has as the total sum of their bank accounts...now that would piss alot of people off especially if they were thinking along the lines of talentless, no voice left hasbeen.

Is that why TISL sales stalled after the early spurt? And that's despite all the help from the hitmakers of the moment.

Maybe she'll team up with Eminem next. Or Alicia Keys? God knows she's tried everything: Jon Bon Jovi, the Dixie Chicks, Don Henley, that dude with the piano, my office's janitor...

Ok so TISL was not her biggest seller...but frankly as one of her younger fans i have to admit i was not attracted by her newer stuff(i.e. Street Angel,Timespace),but by her older stuff...and just her whole persona as a musical person...and record sales don't tell the whole story,my dear,because every Stevie show i went to last year was packed,by young and old,so obviously her following is not lacking that much.

So, I don't know...I'm a huge Stevie fan. I also love the Mac as a band...now..as for who's better than who, who has more talent etc, these conversations are completely assanine...and will not get anyone anywere. I do not feel Stevie can do no wrong...give me a break...she's human...so is Lindsey...and the reason I am a Stevie fan...well, I have my own personal reasons, as many others on the boards do...

So...why do people get defensive? Lets see...music is a powerful tool, it has helped many through distressing..horrid times in their lives, and sometimes it's the only companion a person has, and that is the relationship many Stevie fans have with her music, it's been there for them through the years...through pain, through joy, through a lot...and it has a deep meaning for them...so when you knock that, it can cut deep, and yes, can sometimes be taken personally...you may find this ridiculous or whatever...but it comes down to mutual respect... stop being so petty and rude...some people love Lindsey and some people love Stevie and some people love Chris...respect that each of us has our own individual opinion....and it is rude and disprespectful to bash an artist (all are already aware that she is not some perfect being) that someone really loves and respects....

I think everyone should be entitled to like, worship, love, revere whichever artist they want. So, Stevie fans, carry on. You're entitled.
