Well, I tried on a dress at NY & Co. last night, since everything was 50% off. I love the dress, I've had my eye on it for months, and it would have only been 20something bucks.

Great news: The 12 was too big!
Sh*tty news: They didn't have a 10.

So, I'm happy that my usual size was too small (even with my monthly bloat) and that I didn't blow $, but still upset. Cuz I really liked that dress.

That's so cheap, buy it and have it tailored!

Those awful "designs" don't do anything for anyone. It's not like you can hide a larger body, right? No one is fooled. It's better to flaunt those curves! Otherwise you're just getting that old lady mumu look. That doesn't help anyone. Stupid designers.

I did just hear there is a movement toward using larger sized models. We'll see.

No fitness for me this week - but lots of food. THough actually I'm quite proud of myself - usually I just throw caution to the wind on "travel days" and eat any and all crap I pick up at gas stations, I eat fast food etc..NONE of that yesterday.

I stopped at a Subway and got one of the 6gram sandwiches..NO chips...and drank lots of water, no candy...yea!

Of course now that I'm IN New MExico it's all gonna go to hell since my sister makes the best Chocolate Chip cookies known to man....not to mention these to die for Candy Cane cookies

I'm gonna enjoy it - and hit the fitness hard again once I get back home next week.

I thought about it, but decided against it. Knowing me I would never get around to it & it would sit in my closet for years.

And Dee - you'll be fine. I've been treating myself lately too, but I literally cannot eat that much anymore - it makes me feel ill. So I have a cookie here & there but I don't overdo it - I couldn't even if I wanted to.

Hit the elliptical for 20 minutes yesterday morning (woke up late) and 30 today.

.
I can't stuff myself like I used to - which is very good news. And I am actually less attracted to sugar lately - so that is also very good news - as is the fact that I've finally convinced myself that I don't have to eat something "just because it's there".

So far I've done really well on this trip - and I'm proud of myself for it and feeling wonderful

Tomorrow - it's Applebees with the grandparents- I HATE APplebees -but it's their favorite place to eat in their tiny town - and they do have a couple of Weight Watcher menu items that aren't bad...

The video keeps stopping at :58, so annoying!

I'm very hard on myself about not making huge gains in my exercise and such. But when I think back, I just started weight training last year and was only doing upper body. Now I do my whole body. I could only military press 10lbs and am now up to 30 and up on all other weights as well. I do 30 min of cardio fairly comfortably as opposed to 20 min of really having to push. So I guess when I look at the big picture I've come a long way. Oh yeah, plus I've lost 12 lbs and a size. I think it was focusing on small changes that helped me. Every month or two adding weights, or new machines. Etc. I hope I can keep it up for '07 because I am feeling really confident right now and it is so cool.

that's awesome that you're feeling so confident! woo suze! you really do have to focus on overall change over time because it's so easy to get bogged down and feel as if you're in a rut.

oh, i don't know why that clip is stopping at :58, it's working for me. essentially, mary jo and julia are telling suzanne she should shop at those "big and beautiful" stores, and suzanne finally says "i know i've put on a little weight, but you all are actin' like i should be buyin' fabric from georgia tent and awning!" i love that show, especially that episode, which addressed delta burke's weight gain.

Thank you.

It took a lot of courage for her to address that on TV I think. Awesome.

absolutely. i love delta burke. i think it's awesome that after she lost the weight, she still refused to patronize designers who didn't offer clothing in her heavier size. and i think her own clothing line is still doing quite well, too.

Well over the (almost) two weeks of holiday time - I only worked out once. My yesterday I felt it. I was lethargic, depressed and felt huge...I'd already been feeling crappy last week - it hit full force yesterday - but this morning - being a new year and all - I got out of bed and hopped right over to the gym. I am already feeling tons better...this is going to be a good year for me fitness wise - I can feel it

Yeah, day 1 of my "back on track" plan & I woke up too late to exercise before work. Figures. I was able to squeeze in a quick walk with the dog before I left, but that's it. I plan on hitting the elliptical tonight.

BTW - I screwed up my right arm lifting weights. I was using 8 pound hand weights, which is apparently fine for biceps & even triceps, but not deltoids. The doc at work looked at me like I was insane when I told her. So, due to arm & shoulder pain , I have to really be careful for a while. I'm hoping I didn't actually tear the rotater cuff, just a strain. It's getting better slowly, so we'll see. I'll be running out to pick up some 3 pound weights this week.
