The interesting and IMO good thing about adopting is they put the potential parents through the ringer to make sure the pets are going to a good home.

I totally 100% agree with this. Rescue animals are so grateful, and they deserve a good loving home too. I have a friend who used to run a dalmation rescue, and he helped place (or gave homes to) dozens of dogs.

Sadly, he cant do that any more, but he will still choose a rescue animal over an AKC animal any day.
