Home design is kinda my obsession right now since I am destroying my financial and mental health building a house. For some reason I can't give two wits about the decor in my city apartment (a melange of 90's Ethan Allen and mid century modern and Bauhaus), but I am fretting over the doorknobs in this new place. I originally started out wanting to do something kinda country-modern-beachy... but as I conducted my "architectural research," I got hooked up with a midcentury modern architect (a former colleague of the Saarinens) who sent me totally overboard with the whole international modern/case study house style- the kinda stuff that architectural buffs love, but most people find kinda cold/austere, etc. It's impractical on so many levels, especially with all of the glass. And when people ask me, I tell them honestly that I don't care if people can see me traipsing around the house in the nude. In fact, I'll even get additional tattoos to make it more interesting for them.

Anyway... this is my work/nightmare in progress... hopefully finished in time for summer at the beach!
