I saw the new "Super Pacman" "Plug N Play", which is one of my favorite games (Along with "Venture", "Russian Attack", "Crystal Castles", "Avatar", "Galaxians" & my #1 favorite "Boxing Bugs")

I destroyed my "Gyruss" "Plug & Play" game, I guess I pulled on the joystck so much that the plastic anchor inside broke (I was able to go through the whole universe on "Gyruss", and start over at Pluto).

Actually, Atari 2600 & Nintendo were my faves. Mark has the PS2, he's already plotting how & when he can get the P3. And I'm plotting on how to prevent him from getting it.

I don't "do" video games, but I did see the South Park last night where Cartman can't wait for his wii, so he freezes himself and then is defrosted 500 years in the future where they don't have wii. Hilarity ensues.

Speaking of SP and video games, I also saw the one where they had to beat this video game guy, so they played only video games for weeks and weeks to get to the right level. They all got really fat and pimply, which was funny, because it's true. I'm going to have one of those sad, non overweight kids who grows up and bitches that their mom never let them play video games, they always had to play outside.

Actually if a kid plays DDR then the fat and plumpy doesn't apply.

Or their parents can actually step up and limit video game time...anyway...

True story:

My uncle's sister-in-law has three sons, all video games whores. All chunky.

Enter DDR. They are ALL thin and fit now

It's hilarious - but that game totally got their asses off the couch and eventually out of the house...

I was at the mall one day (this was a while back) and I saw one of their friends (and my neighbor) at the video arcade. He was playing DDR, had his sweat towel, a bottle of water..it was totally his daily workout

Of course can't tell ya what will happen when the appeal of DDR wears off - but for the last few years they've all remained quite slim thanks to the weight loss effects of DDR.

Dee - Are you touting that game as a miraculous new weight loss tool?

BTW - has anyone ever seen my husband? Drinks a lot of beer, plays video games too much, never exercises, is still hot & thin? I mean, sure he'll be dead by 50, but he'll probably still look good.

And Amber - do you think Stevie will mind when ask her if I can move in after I lose my house?

Yes. Because it IS!!! I'm not kidding - I worked up a wicked sweat - got a nice workout - AND had a ton of fun....we all played for at least two hours lol....

And my sister's friend Jessie lost 30 pounds playing it

I sooo want one now....

I'm seriously thinking of buying one (of course I can't right now) but come tax refund time? I'm thinking about it....I haven't had that much fun in a long time....

Of course, like many things I'm sure the fun would wear off soon so

BTW - check into used systems. I'm sure tons of people traded them in for credit towards the new P3. They usually have them at gaming stores (E.B. Games is one here locally, not sure if they're national though.) And they should come with some sort of warranty. Just a thought.

I actually did buy a used one once. I got it home, took it out - the controllers wouldn't work

I took it as a sign, took it back and haven't tried again. It turns out it had the wrong controllers with it

Still,I couldn't afford it anyway...but that is a good idea..used....

Although - now that the ps3 has been release the used price is not far off from the new...but when it's time I'll weigh options...

Oh and DDR Supernova (which is the game my sister got) was $60

My family is behind the times, they got a lowly PS2....the PS3's $600+ price tag was just too much......

The Wii looks odd to me - those controllers actually do not look at all appealing...they look like they'd be really frustrating...I like a good old hand-held (with one hand) video game controller....I don't do well with change.

The controller is actually dead easy to use. Most of the time you just use the one with your right hand (or left hand if you're left handed), It;s brilliant to play tennis and bowling. I'm actually good at them on this where as I suck at them in real life..lol

Oh and we've had a few controller incidents were someone has got whacked when standing too close..

Galaga - I LOVE it...I have to stop and play whenever I see it in public..and there's a bar down the street from my work that has it lol...sometimes that's what I do on my lunch break.

The old stuff you can download you have to use a normal controller
