He draws very strong reactions, either of the protective or the annoyed variety, and it's hard for people to stay neutral.

can anyone point to anything he's said that is divisive? He may be repetitive in posting polls or topics, but he's never to my knowledge said anything negative or derogatory, he's repeatedly asked for calm and for folks not to fight over him.

this whole thing stems back to the fact that someone over on 7W has slandered him (without PROOF) and it has followed him like a bad smell over here. He's been labeled a troll for causing fights yet he's not really doing anything to stir anyone up? Some have visited his MySpace page and have seen pictures of his classmates and read comments from his friends and there is at least as good an argument (if not BETTER) that he is exactly who he says he is, a young Stevie fan who has the same teenage angst regarding love life and celebrity worship as we all had at one time or another!!

Thats how I see it anyway...

Again, if anyone has proof he's a fraud, I say it should be presented or Ethan should be taken at face value.

he doesn't have to say anything divisive to be divisive ... i mean, clearly he is, just look at every thread he starts.

I've never seen his myspace. But, if he constantly does things that obviously annoy people, such as post multiple threads about the same thing, or even just adding the icons next to the subject after others have asked him to stop, then... That's trollish to me. Yeah, he's younger than most here, but even at 16, one would know that if something pisses the sh*t out of others, it's best to stop doing it.

I also did - but I'm done. Not because I have some silly notion that he's "not who he says he is" or is some sad man pretending to be 16....but because if he can't/won't stand up for himself it's not my job to do so...

You make good points about how people have judged him - and I do think that had "warnings" not been posted here about his 7 Wonders behaviour then people may not have reacted so harshly....that on top of a blatant "bandwagon" effect...which even I jumped on when Ethan first started posting here...have amounted to people being a**holes about this whole thing.

But he's not the first one who has posted hundreds of pointless and inane things upon first getting here....I can think of a few people who did that...

And Nicki is absolutlely right - this board would be one empty place if everyone who annoyed someone/pissed someone off stopped posting....


That said - Carrie is right in that his very presence is obviously divisive. I'm not sure that's really his fault - as it's everyone else (myself included) who are being a**holes whenever he posts....

I think it was Chris who said in the chit chat forum - it's the holiday season - would it kill you all to be nice at least this time of year?? I'm paraphrasing but it's a good point all the same.

I noticed it and it was pointed out to me....

And I forgot to mention as to the "he's doing this on purpose" thing...perhaps..he is 16 afterall (I know I was a complete sh*t at that age, and most teens I know also fit that bill )

So yeah...it's really not worth the energy and grief....if the kid wants to stand up for himself cool - I'm done doing it...

I guess I'm one of the mean spirited and deplorable people that brought up Ethan's behavior in the 7 Wonders forum over here. I have decided to stay out of it and have even responded kindly to some of Ethan's posts. I think that considering he isn't even saying a freaking word in this thread that we should just not worry about it. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion and frankly, it doesn't seem worth it for us to be pissed off at each other over something like this.
