Personally, I don't think moderators should be involved in public discussions about other Ledgies and give their opinions. They should be neutral, no?

Well, you can't really put a suggestion by Miss Vicky as an example because she already bashed the sh*t out of him from the moment he came to this board. So why would he take any of her "gentle" advice a month later?

That said, I still think this thread is parody, hilarious at that, and not that mean-spirited. Mean-spirited was dredging up all of Ethan's actions at another board in order to influence our opinion of him. It'll all work out.

true, but it was still advice that was echoed/supported by others who haven't bashed the **** out of him ...

I find it fascinating that out of the 324 of Ethan's posts that 65 of them are new threads.
Well, truth be told, I don't have the time to wade through every single thread that Ethan has started or has posted in, to find the seven messages with kind suggestions that Carrie and Nicki posted.

And why does it matter how many threads Ethan has created? It's not like he's our first "motor-mouth" Ledgie.

Hm, well some of us were already really tired of his behaviour on The Other Board where numerous suggestions about changing his posting style had already been made (and not been followed up, might I add). I realize that should not play a factor in what's going on here, but it shows where some people are coming from at least.

I gave my opinion in so much that "mocking, deriding, taunting, carping" are violations of our rules/guidelines here and apparently people don't grasp why some of the comments posted to and about Ethan are innapropriate in those regards.
I don't recall taking sides.

And given that I've stuck up for you in the past, Curtis, I'm surprised and disappointed that you'd throw this in my face.

It just looks like a double standard to me. The best way, in my opinion, to deal with a thread you don't like or that annoys you is not to post in it. Like I thought the poll about the Stevie crush was lame and I was enjoying watching it sink to the bottom until Amber had to come in and talk about gay people for the millionth time.

No one has time to wade through every single thread that Ethan has started.... I had to stop wading through that "long song" thread after about ten minutes- and that was just one post.

It doesn't matter- I said it was fascinating.

Alas, most of us (including myself) don't follow this simple advice.

a major difference, though, is that ethan starts threads without actually saying anything in his posts. he just says "hey y'all, here is a thread where we can discuss _______" instead of actually saying anything about the topic at hand ... to me, that just seems like starting a thread for the sake of starting a thread.
