do not, under any circumstances, wear anything like this...

I think I love you.

Myself, I would have absolutely no problem at all with the knee high boot, but that is a personal style/preference thing. The rounded toe mid/heel is the probably the best option. But I love boots. I have more boots than God.

You could also probably do a cute flat with thick tights of the same color, but make sure the flat isn't so high-cut that there is no "toe cleavage."

Now, pointed toe heels can be worn with nude tights, since the pointy toe elongates the leg and it's rather slimming. I've got a pair of pointed toe stillettoes which I think I would die without.

Square toes bother me to an extent, but square heels? No thx.

Yeah, I know. I watch the Isaac Mizrahi show too much.
You guys are awesome. You have no idea how helpful you're being. I have dressed casual for so many years- I needed my Ledgie fashion divas to set me on the right path.

I adore boots as well. Thing is, besides my military-style combat boots and my platform hooker boots, the only ones I own are gogo boots:

They're so much fun, though. Maybe I should just drop everything and strive to be a gogo girl. I certainly have the wardrobe.

I *had* to take a detour through the boot pages while online shopping for your shoes.
I love my boots, and I have them all lined up on the top shelf of the closet, where I can admire them. I have even saved boots from high school.

Also, I remember you said you have back problems, so the trick would be to find these sort of shoes with a mid heel, and lots of cushion.
this one is too high, and I think the croc stamp is wrong, but sort of what I mean

breaking my own rule on the detailing, because this is a cute shoe

a sensible, versatile option
That middle shoe is exactly what I was thinking!!

I'm dissapointed girl that it took you this long to respond. I've always considered you to be on the cutting edge.

I know I 'm late, but may I add:
I would definetely wear round-toes with a suit like that.
Esp. something like the (second)photo Jason posted .
However, I have one question: when you say "tights" in the US, you don't mean something like unfooted tight trousers, right? Does it mean a thicker pantyhose?

Oh, all right. Thank you very much.
Is it more common to wear pantyhose than tights at work? I usually wear tights (that is more than 40 Den), I feel more comfortable in them. However, I have a feeling that they look less formal somehow.

If you're not going the boot route (which is my first choice), do the retro, round-toe, brown, pump. Those shoes are CUTE!!
