Default The Who & Pretenders at Mohegan Sun

...was the most ****ing awesome concert I've ever been too.

I don't remember the exact setlists, but they both really got the crowd going the whole time. My favorite part of the whole night? Chrissie Hynde's back and forth talking to the audience. She pissed a lot of people off, and cracked me the hell up.

Edit: I found The Who's set...

I Can't Explain
The Seeker
Anyway Anyhow Anywhere
Fragments
Who Are You
Behind Blue Eyes
Sound Round
Pick Up the Peace
Endless Wire
We Got a Hit
They Made My Dream Come True
Mirror Door
Baba O'Riley
Eminence Front
A Man in a Purple Dress
Mike Post Theme
You Better You Bet
My Generation
Cry If You Want
Won't Get Fooled Again
Pinball Wizard
Amazing Journey
Sparks
See Me Feel Me
Tea & Theatre

I'm so happy you got to see them! Both bands. I've seen Chrissie & the boys several times, and it's always amazing each time. Never got to see The Who, and I'm totally jealous that you got to see them.

So you should totally come to Cleveland next weekend to see the Pretenders with me & Greg :P

I wish I could! I would love to chill with you guys. But I don't think anyone would like me dissapearing without a trace for three days.

BTW, Chrissie was on a roll last night with the audience. lol

"Wow there's a lot of old faces, old people here tonight! And with their kids!"

"No I said you're a great crowd, not a gay croud!"

(As she takes up the tambourine) "Ok guys who am I?......yeah yeah, Stevie Nicks!"

And I loved watching people's reactions to her speach about animal cruelty before I'll Stand By You.

Did she talk about how fabulous her ass is? She's been doing that a lot at the Who shows :P They've only been playing I'll Stand By You at the Who shows, too. Well, from what I've read.

When they hit the states again, you gotta come to a show with me. Or at least hang around after the show and junk.

My brothers and nephew saw The Who in Atlanta the night before Thanksgiving and they said it was incredible!! Lots of nods to Keith and John... which is very cool.

I've been a Pretenders fan since the get-go and would have loved to have seen that double-bill.
Glad you had a great time and got to see it!!

Wow, that's an awful lot of new songs! I normally like legacy bands who take that much pride in their new albums... but I think their new album kinda blows. And to add insult to injury, they totally eliminated anything from Quadrophenia, which is a bloody shame! Still... I wish I had made the effort to drive up from NYC to see this great double-bill... oh well... they'll be back, I'm sure.

And Chrissie Hynde is another of my favorites. I loves me some a dat militantly vegan sass-mouth bitch!

Actually, they were pretty cool about the new material. They weren't like, trying to plug it or anything really, Pete was just like, "Hey guys, we have this new rock opera album out, and here's six of the songs. After that, it's all old stuff." At least they don't pull any punches.

I forgot to mention the price of my tickets, which was in fact the highlight of my night. Being that this was at a casino, the high rollers receive free tickets, and they usually dont want them, so they give them away. I just stood around with my best friend Katy, had her bat her eyelashes a few times, and we scored a lot of tickets. I'm still kind of proud of myself for that one. lol

Free tickets are sweet. I may never pay for a concert again if I can help it.

No suh! That is cool. Now I am really mad at myself for not going. Damn. I'm glad it was so great. Love the Stevie mention!
