if you use the actual screen grab program, the one in applications-->utilities (sorry, i'm not on my mac at the mo, i don't remember the name), there should be a menu at the top called "capture" or "grab" or something to that effect. then you can choose selection, window, screen, or timed screen. selection means you get to click and drag your mouse to select a small portion of the screen you want to capture. window means you get to choose a specific window to be captured, screen is the whole thing, and timed screen means you get a countdown to set up the screen however you want it to look when it's capped.

I don't think anyone really takes it all that seriously. It's just a bit of silliness and gives you "bragging rights" (in a tongue-in-cheek way).
Much like the regulars down at the local bar all patting Jimbo on the back because he downed the most beers last Friday night.

Silliness is right...I've been here since freakin' 2000 - and I'm one of a handful of old-time Ledgies (you included) I think that's more of a call for bragging rights than excessive post counts...

I say that now but again I was totally miffed when I lost 2000+ posts a while back...but whatever...I gotta have a life outside of The Ledge...

but seriously. Until I hit 1,000 posts, no one EVER responded to my posts(hell..they still don't ), never got a pm, etc. I think there is a hidden frame on the door that says "don't talk to newbies until they hit 1,000. Then they are cool enough"
