Don't get me started on this- YES! Anyone can go back it's never too late!

And yes, Deanna- you're also right- GPA is not the only factor in getting into grad school- there are many other things that factor in- personal statements, recommendations, GRE scores, etc. I just gave a talk at my former undergrad about getting into graduate school! I know you could do it, if you wanted to.

Oh yeah - and my gpa isn't bad at all - I've just got the thew F's that mar it a bit - though I think since it was for the same class it they said they avereaged the grades I got on it - and it only counts as one "F" overall...

Who knows...except I know when the time is right I'll find a nice little grad school to go to...of course I still don't know what the heck I'd want a master's in - only time will tell.

I can go to my local University (Chico State) and get my Masters in Poli Sci, or Social Work with ease......they are begging me to enroll, but I dont have the free time to be able to do that much less the ability to pay all my bills!

Loans, baby. A lot of people say they don't want to have loans, but I see it as a major investment. I can either pay loans off and have the degree I've always dreamed of or I can bartend with a bad back for the rest of my life and be debt free. I get money at the beginning of each semester, and I send all of my debtors a big chunk- enough to last me through the semester until the next payment.

I didn't know that you could get a master's degree at a community college- wouldn't that be so much cheaper?

Oh, you *did* say University woops! I haven't paid a dime on my ungergrad though. Just had it deferred (which you could too) until I'm done with this degree. Then, after that deferrment runs out, I'll go back and get my PhD. If I keep getting degrees, I'll never have to pay anything back. I may die before then.

And student/school loans are so much easier and economical to pay back than any other debt...the interest rates are so low...of course that also means many will be paying them back for the rest of their lives...but I have actually though about going back to school mostly for the loan (pay off a credit card) lol...horrible reason - which is why I've not done that....

But overall it is the easiest money to pay back

this is something i'm thinking of doing, since i still have a large unpaid portion of my undergrad loan. . .after i graduated i kept thinking "i'll pay it off no problem and go back to do my masters," but then life with all its unseen expenses got in the way. now i'm thinking i should just do it because i can get a deferment. but then i torture myself with paranoid thoughts about what will happen when i have to pay both loans back and probably won't be able to get a job with my economically useless liberal arts degrees. it makes me sad to think about, because education in this country is such a wonderful thing. . .if you can afford it.
