Such an amazing article. Read it on NicksFix first this morning. Yeah, I noticed "transcribed by Pip Fidler"!!! Hehehe Way to go Pip, thanks for this!!!!
An article like this just gives you a nice, warm, fuzzy feeling.....like awwwww, how nice.......... "Stevie should tell herself the wonderful things that she tells me - she's way too tough on herself. It's hard to be in the public eye, and getting older isn't easier for any of us gals. Stevie's still gorgeous, though, and I get frustrated with her because she doesn't realise it." Kinda breaks your heart, doesn't it. She's beautiful!!! I swear, I don't look that great and I'm 25!! I said it before, I'll say it again: We could all only hope to look that good when we're in our 50's!!!! There are words in here that I'm really trying to picture Stevie saying--"fickle" and "pussy-foot"!!!!!!!!!! Oh to be a fly on the wall at that trip to Hawaii. You know, they REALLY ARE close and just like family now!!! "She's totally like a sister: one of the few people who takes care of me. If I'm sick, Stevie will come over with a cashmere blanket; that's how she is. She's a big rock star, and she doesn't need to drop everything, but she cares about people. When I was first Grammy nominated she was very supportive at the awards ceremony. Other female artists in the room seemed to ignore me but Stevie didn't have any of that. She doesn't have an ego about music." Now THAT is a true rock STAR!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Stevie says that her songs are her children;that they go out and work on her behalf. And they do, because they are very healing for people. I've yet to make that peace with my work because it doesn't have that depth. But if I ever wrote something as good as "Landslide",say, I'd just get in my car, drive to Tennessee and have kids. I'd feel completely sated. " Isn't that interesting, because Stevie DID write that song way back when, and it WASN'T enough for her (thank God), she had that depth that early and it wasn't enough, wasn't the end, she was not at peace and she was not sated, did not quit, did not just run off and have children and say "well that's it, I've reached the pinnacle now, etc."....... I just love love love this article!! Stephanie
