I would have this accent if i were american...

What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Northeast Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.

So stop saying "you talk funny" and start saying "you have the cutest inland north accent.":

i should record my housemates. the way they say "drawer" and the sentiment "awww" drives me absolutely insane. of course, i say "bagel" funny, apparently [it comes out sounding like "bay" and not "beg"].

You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

I think that is the correct way. Which is why you have no accent. My ex's family is big on proper English and this is how they say it. I used to say it like "bag". I wasn't even aware of it until he so kindly pointed it out.
