Elie - I love Philip Roth too. I once saw him in a shopping Mall in London with his then girlfriend Clare Bloom. I followed him for a bit (trying to be inconspicuous and not too stalker like).
I really wanted to say hello but then I remembered he's not supposed to be very nice to fans so I chickened out! I didn't want to have a bad memory of him.

I'm reading American pastoral at the moment.

I think that'a exactly what I would have done if I had run into him in a shop or something. I don't really like talking to famous people. I would have preferred to meet him at a dinner or something - you know, impossible things lol-.
I am reading Letting Go at the moment. I can't for the life of me believe that someone at the age of 29 can write like that.

I'm in love with Chuck Palahniuk at the moment, but my favorites are Sylvia Plath, Ayn Rand, and Patti Smith.

Have you read her autobiography? She's had a pretty fascinating life and so it's as good a read as her novels.

Terry Pratchett. Absolutely fantastic. Totally hilarious.

H.G. Wells. One of the best.
