Anyways, Here is some onstage dialog that Eddie Vedder made during PJ's 2003 OKC show - funny **** too!!! "Glad you could all be with us tonight. There's a lot of "f**ks" in that last song. And it's f**king great to be here. And "f**k" is a great f**king word. And it seems like ten years ago, freedom of speech, it all had to do with whether you could say "f**k" or not. Cuz it is, it's a word that's worth fighting for, ya know, ya say f**k him, f**k her, f**k me, f**k! Then great ways to say it: "That's f**kin' beautiful." F**k. I personally can't say I ever said it this way, but I'm sure you could say, "Let's f**k." But now freedom of speech it has, uh, it has a lot to do with much bigger issues. And uh, somehow, we played a show last night and it's been misconstrued. They said, uh, 24 people left because they were upset at a, uh, anti-Bush administration remark. [crowd boos] You're booing the story, right, not me? Let's clarify that. You know you could have written that story differently and you could have said 11,972 people cheered and applauded at what the singer said ... we pledged our support and love to the troops. Ya know, how could we not be for the military? Look at this f**kin' haircut. [cheers] So, uh, no matter what it is, no matter how you feel, I think it's important for people to be able to protest, say what they feel, and put public pressure, put pressure on politicians and government just so that they will do a better job. There's nothing anti-patriotic about that. Because their job affects our families, our safety, our security, our relatives who are in the military, our friends, it affects everyone, so we have a right to be a voice and be part of that, I would think, as part of a democracy. That's all we wanted to say, this is 'Given to Fly'." |

like PJ from the get-go, Mainly because Stone & Jeff were members of the GREAT band Mother Love Bone, before the singer Andrew Wood OD'd (Andrew's death is what inspired the "Temple of the Dog" release between Jeff, Stone & former Soundgarden singer & Andrew's roomate Chris Cornell)

PJ tried to play their entire touring catalogue in three shows at the Mansfield, Mass. shows (July 2, July 3 & July 11) and never repeated the songs. They played 26 songs on July 2nd, Played 24 on July 3rd & finally played 33 songs on the 11th (The 11th show included an additional 12 acoustic set which were played before the opening act - 95 songs total for the 3 gigs). Wished FM would do something, similar but that will NEVER happen. Spontaneous is NOT a word relating to FM. Last edited by estranged4life; 10-31-2006 at 02:46 PM.. |
