Default The roadkill grill

SO anyway, I was driving to work this morning at about 6:45 AM and I was in the right lane of the freeway, and I flew past this deer that was in the right lane. Didnt even see it until I was right on top of it. Thank god the poor creature didnt move or he wouldve been hamburger, not to mention me! Everyone be careful out there, those male deer are so busy right now finding females to get freaky with theyre not exactly paying attention when they cross the highway. ANyone ever hit one? This morning was as close as I've come.

One time I was at a rest stop in Nebraska, and out on the highway I saw a semi hit a deer. Not pretty.

Oh yeah, I've had a few near crashes with deer. I've never hit one but I did run over a raccoon one time. I felt bad for days.

I almost flipped an SUV to miss hitting a pack of deer on the highway coming back from Yellowstone to Jackson Hole (Grand Teton Nat'l Park) in Wyoming. Luckily we all came away from that OK.

I was a passenger in the car my friend Jim was driving in Puerto Rico and he hit a dog. The dog didn't die (that we saw), just limped away. We were on a dirt road coming back from the beach and not going very fast - maybe 15-20 mph at the most, so I think the dog probably was OK. Still, it really upset me and shook me up though.

If I ever hit a dog, I'd be a wreck.

I hit my husbands chocolate lab, and he had to have his tail bobbed as a result of it. I still feel bad when I go to visit him and see his poor tail.

I DID roll over an SUV, that I had for all of six weeks, to miss a deer that was in the middle of the road. Luckily, I only had a few scratches an nix from the glass.

I was driving thru Memphis (as opposed to walking, thank goodness) and had a run-in with a bird. That was somewhat disturbing.
In college, I was a passenger in my roommate's car and she ran over a possum on my side.... that was infact disturbing.

A few years back, in Tennessee that passed a law that you could keep any roadkill... it just had to be "fresh".
I guess because claiming "unfresh" would just be plain crazy???
