I know - AND - ther are, I think, a bunch of the prior vocals out there. I'd have been like "PLEASE MESS UP SO YOU CAN DO IT AGAIN"

I also think the Free Falling "I'M GONNA LEAVE THIS WOOOORRRRLLLDDD FOR AWHILE" would have been something to beold as well.

i love hearing her sing that style - her voice is so well suited for it, i wish she would do more. it's not my fave on disc three ... my faves are sleeping angel, free fallin', it's late, and gold and braid.

does anyone know when free fallin' was recorded?

I love the vocals on SBSBM, but the song is completely naff. Something Faith Hill would sing

'Free Fallin' was recorded in 1996 for the Party of Five soundtrack

Battle of the Dragon is without a doubt my favorite from this disc. Great song. As for the rest:

1. Twisted - passable, but the soundtrack version is better

2. Long Distance Winner - good song, but of all the Buckingham Nicks songs to choose from, why this one?

3. Thousand Days - I like this song a lot, too. Probably my third favorite from the disc

5. Gold - I love John Stewart, so obviously I like this song, but what's the point of including something that only had her on backing vocals?

6. Free Fallin' - Horrible, unbearable. Absolute butchery.

7. It's Late - Eh, it's okay but rather uninspiring.

8. Violet & Blue - Same as above.

9. Whenever I Call You Friend - This song annoys. I think it's all the "ooh"s and "ahs" in the beginning. I can't get past that.

10. Sweet Girl - Nothing special here. A tad boring in any form, but The Dance version is slightly less so.

11. Blue Lamp - Another uninspiring tune.

12. Gold & Braid - Passable, but not a favorite.

13. Reconsider Me - I actually really like this one, even more so than Zevon's original (and I LOVE WZ!). Probably #4 on my favs from this list.

14. Somebody Stand By Me - Good song but not spectacular. I'd put it at #5

15. Sleeping Angel - Excellent song, prob. #2 favorite from this disc.

16. Rhiannon (Piano Version) - HATE it. My favorite thing about "Rhiannon" was always Lindsey's guitar, take that out and replace it with piano and I am not a happy camper.

I can't even imagine what it was like. I mean, what the fukc could Lindsey have possibly said during this vocal period when Stevie went into the Honky Chateau and recorded the vocal that IS "That's Alright"???? I mean, seriously??? Her voice was otherworldly. I can just see that jackass sitting there with pursed lips saying, "Okay- great. Next." Perhaps, I'm being callous. But, he couldn't have resisted her performance on "Gypsy".... That whole thing is just... well, it's just... it's perfect.

Is there any interview documentation from this period?? I would Lindsey would have been exploding from her beauty during this time.

There's a reason why I love you, and this is one of them. I think she rips the S H I T T E out of that song- much better than Petty, IMO. Passion works every time.

It is a great song. Her lyrics are a masterpiece.

How better to reach into every single one of us that has felt the suicide desire to say

"No one walks away from this battle-
Not from the power.. it's so strong
Like a fury...
Keep that fury deep inside you-
And wish it to end...

And when your friends start asking you why-
You just say nothing!!
"

I agree with everybody about Rhiannon. She shouldn't have included that version.
