Welp, I'd say we're pretty much set for Cyn '07... I read that her True Colours tour is starting then, so I don't know if she'll still do the casino stuff. Bitch had better not back out on me this time!!!!

Especially this really close friend of mine, who doesn't call when she says she will, and whenever we *do* talk tells me that she misses me and would loooove to see me again... But she's too busy. Too busy going out with her other friend.

I was supposed to meet up with everyone last week at a party, and ended up not going because the same thing you described happened: The drive there was stressful because his house is hard to find, and I started getting anxious about seeing some of these people (one of whom I am mad at), and backed out of it completely.

I'm living at home, but there's only so much your parents can do for you, ya know?

Right now, I'm worried about my bird. I'm pretty sure she's sick, and I have no idea what to do for her.
I hope your bird is ok What seems to be the problem??

I guess there is only so much ANYONE can do for you. The real thing is...we can only do for ourself.

I know my problem is that I am SO indepedant, I close people out. I do have people who try...but I get mad and almost instigate fights so I can just be alone...in my comfort zone...

But that's NOT good...
Have a good night.

I had her on medication for awhile... Even though she was acting normally, and eating and drinking well, her poop was runny. Not a good sign, but the vet seemed to think it was more of a vitamin deficiency and suggested I give her a more varied diet. So... I introduced new foods to her, and that's been fine, but lately she hasn't been chirping much. She's usually really chatty, so I'm a little concerned. She pepped up a bit last night and today, though.

I'm the same way! I tend to give off this vibe of total independance, and I think a lot of my friends just figure I can handle things, when I sometimes need them more than ever.

Yeah me too. When I went through my breakup with my fiance this friend said she didn't contact me because she figured I would want my space which is what she would want. WTF? I can count on one finger how many people were there for me at that time. Needless to say I am not friends with that woman anymore. And my ex married her sister anyway, who I introduced him to and was supposed to be my friend. Yadda yadda.

So if people can't be there for you maybe they're not the right people? Or maybe ask for support? I'm so bad at that and tend to isolate when things are bad. This does not help! If you ever want to talk about anything though feel free to PM me. Some of my most supportive friends are email friends.

Amen to that. One of my best friends who I only met online is the one to talk me into contacting my step-daughter. She was really the only person I talked to in depth about it. If it wasen't for her, I would probably still be contemplating contacting her. You know who you are....

Not necessarily. When I lost my husband, I was only recommended monthly visits. That really sucked. If you feel you need weekly visits, and your therapist is not offering them, look for another therapist. Had I known that then, I would have found someone different. I wasne't thinking straight enough to figure that out then.

Jesus, your husband committed suicide and the therapist didn't have the common sense to know you would need at least weekly visits? Unfortunately there are plenty of mediocre therapists out there. But you are right, you can always change your therapist. However, this is really hard when you are in crisis. You're really just looking for the expert to take care of you because you can't do it at that moment.

A family member was seeing a psychiatrist and psychologist. The psychiatrist was billing him for psychotherapy when she knew she was supposed to just be doing med evals because he already had his talk therapy with his psychologist. So naturally his insurance didn't cover the double sessions. WTF???

I meant to say a "good" therapist. Monthly is not even close to enough for someone who is grieving.

People can be really insensitive sometimes. I tend to take it personally, which can be a problem... it's not always intended that way. Some people just don't think. So, yeah, are they the right people? I found out awhile ago that some of them aren't. Some, I'm still hanging on to, but I'm about to cut the ties if they keep being dickwads. I know what you mean about online friends, though. They're basically all I have now, as pathetic as that might sound. I'll PM ya if I need anything.

Dude, monthly? That's rough. I agree with Suze and Ryan, that's definitely not a good schedule. No matter what, it IS hard to search around and wait for someone better... Sometimes you think even mediocre help is better than nothing at all.

So on topic of depression and therapists etc...does anyone else have fits with insurance and the coverage of mental health?

It pisses me off -like it's just not important - my insurance (in NY--where my worst depression hit) didn't cover mental health!!!! Is this an issue with anyone else?

hell yeah. when i was in HS my parents had to jump through hoops to get my **** covered. they would only cover a certain number of visits per year (20 or 30), so even when i was scary depressed, i couldn't go every week. i hate insurance companies. h-a-t-e.
