Hmm. Geddy Lee's vocals kind of ruin this band for me.

Probably the best of all the PGSG albums. Peter Stroud & Larry Tolfree give the Fleetwood/McVie duo a run for their money as a rhythm section. Roger Cotton's keyboards are as tasty as can be; and, in a few places sounds like 72-74 era Christine McVie. Nigel Watson's guitar playing is a perfect foil for Peter Green...in fact, on a few numbers, it takes some close listening to actually distinguish who exactly is playing what. (just like in the TPO days with Peter & Danny Kirwan). Of course, the cover of "Underway" doesn't come close to the original Fleetwood Mac version, but still sounds nice. This remake of Nigel's "Uganda Woman" just buries the original single that Peter Green recorded in the early '70s post-Fleetwood Mac. Nigel's intro vocal on "Shadow On My Door" is haunting...as if he were actually channelling a plantation worker from the late 1800s...one of his best vocals on record.
