Omigoodness, where did that sad puppy come from? So cute, as is your other big-eared puppy!

Thanks for the nice words and thoughts, Deborah, Niki, Deanna, Jaz, I have barely told anyone in the "real world" except those who knew him, but I guessed you all would understand.

This has been a tough year for Ledgie pets, it seems.

Now my girl Isabel kitty is 16 (she's in the middle picture with Anansi) and she is finally showing her age. It feels like my whole life could be divided into chapters for each cat I have lived with, all the way back to the beginning.

Yes, it has been a bad year for Ledgie pets.

Eliza, when my kitty died, I was telling someone that he never let me know he was in pain. He never whimpered or meowed or anything. It wasn't until he kept vomiting that I was even aware there was anything wrong with him. My friend told me, "That was his gift to you." I also believe Anansi was trying to do you a favor. He was a beautiful kitty! He looks just like the neighborhood kitty who comes to visit me.

Poor kitty. Eliza, you & your mom gave him a beautiful life.

I'm so sorry too Eliza. Your story made me cry. I hate the idea of a cat suffering.

She lived a long and happy life and was a beautiful cat.

Obviously Mrs. Bouvier has warmed to One Eyed Willie. I found them sleeping like this during the storm:

Look at my friend Jamie's two new little poopsies:

Their names are Lola (on the right) and Rocco.

Then of course there's the O-G kitty. My mom's. She's 13, and loves to give scary looks while sitting on my mom's ugly couch

Finally snapped a pic of my other betta, Dalton. It's not great, but damn fish are hard to photograph.

And y'all have seen these guys before, but I liked this photo so I had to share.

Wow your pets are so colorful - they goregeous...I've always thought about trying fish or frogs - but I'm afraid I'd kill them :\

They're actually very low maintenance. I keep my bettas in 1-2 gallon tanks (one per tank of course, since their other name is Siamese Fighting Fish), drop a few pieces of food every other day or so (they don't really need to eat every day) and change their water every couple of weeks.

The toads get their tank cleaned once a week and I drop about a half dozen small crickets in there every night before I go to bed.

And since they don't really give a crap about me as long as they have food, I don't feel any guilt about the fact that they're home alone for 12-14 hours a day 4 days out of the week.

Their fur is so plush! I love the way kitties flop over and curl around each other.

Thanks all, and I *do* think that Anansi had a very good life, and that his end was a gift to my mother, because she was overwhelmed at the prospect of a protracted illness and I was worried that she would let the doctors keep him alive to the point where he was miserable—at least that is what happened with the other two elderly cats we had. Also, I know he loved his yard and the outside territory possible more than he loved us, so that would be where he would want to spend his last moments, not at the vets.
