Default Walmart Worker Case

I'm glad they got hammered for this.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061013/...art_damages_dc

PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - A jury in Philadelphia on Friday said Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT - news), the world's biggest retailer, must pay $78.47 million in damages to current and former Pennsylvania employees for forcing them to work "off the clock" or during rest breaks.

On Thursday, a state jury in Philadelphia found that Wal-Mart violated Pennsylvania labor laws by failing to pay employees for "off the clock" work or for rest breaks.

But the jury found in Wal-Mart's favor on the charge that it denied workers meal breaks.

Thumbs up Good...

now for the same results in other states where "the Evil Empire" has done the exact same thing to their employees.

I hate Wal-Mart, plain and simple as it can get.

I told Walmart that I hate them, on Tuesday.
Sooo, I'm getting about $5 worth of canned dog food. I'm at the U-scan things. The machine calls for the operator to come to my machine. She tells me that, randomly, during the day, the system calls for them to check signatures. I groan, and get my card back out. She's looking at it, and I say, "yeah, I'm a scribbler(sp)"......."Well, then I need to see your driver's license". I said, for $5 worth of dog food?!" "Yes."
I said, "see, this is why Walmart SUCKS. I HATE Walmart!"
She's getting a little upset(like I'm yelling at her), and she said "oh hun, I'm so sorry".
I said, "no, you're fine. You're just doing your job. (I held her elbow then) "I don't hate YOU. I hate Walmart!". "Don't you see that Walmart has become Big Brother?"(got a blank stare on this comment). I reiterated, "I don't hate you, at all. But I HATE Walmart!"
Homie then left the building.

Walmart sucks!!!

^^

Well those dog food thieves are rampant these days - stealing people's credit cards to pay for dog food...they were just protecting the consumer

I buy my dog food there too It's about the only thing I buy there if I can help it...

But last night I went -- after work. And they only had 1 out of 5 things I needed - the rest were out of stock - and I cursed WM - and left.

Does anyone actually like that place? Ugh.

And THAT's what's SOOO F*CKING stupid about their policies. I've had them question my signature before (because I AM a scribbler). I've said(when buying like $10 worth of stuff), "don't you think if I had a stolen card, that I'd be buying a big screen TV? Would I REALLY be buying a freaking bottle of shampoo?"
"well, maybe you're practicing, to see if you can get by with it".
I don't know what's dumber, their policies, or some of their employees. Mindless drones, alot of them.

And it's not just yours. I've told them, MAAAANNNNNNNNYYYY times, that if I come there for 5 items, I'm LUCKY if I'm able to buy 2!

Unfortunately for all us cheap bastards, they ARE cheaper on everything, 98% of the time.

that's the **** part - the money...the Gardenburger riblets I like are less than 2 dollars at Hell Mart - at every other area grocery store they're more than $4!!! That's a HUGE difference for someone on a budget

But I try to strike a balance....

Well, me too. If another store(especially a local one) can come CLOSE on price, I'll shop there. But if the difference is huge, sorry, I gotta go for the best deal.

No, those asswipes don't carry Tab. They don't carry anything "specialty". Only the main sellers.
Our stupid SUPERwallyhell opens next Wed. So now, they can run the local groceries out of business.
