That's what I'm hovering about, too. Well, like 146-149. And I started closer to 160. But I really should go down to 135 at least, not 140.
I'm not that frustrated, though, as I haven't made many regularly, constantly practiced changes to my scooby snacking habits. But then when I do, I lose weight. So, I'm not panicked or anything. It just makes everything a bit 2 steps forward, one step back. No big.

So. I just had a terrible week of not eating right & not exercising much - that whole "6 days without electricity" thing really screwed me up. Then this past weekend I ate a lot of crap (OK, not crap, it was good homemade food - but not healthy by any means.) And now I'm about to have my monthly visit from Aunt Flo (that whore...)

And I lost 2 pounds.

I know, my muscles are probably wasting away. But WTF, man?!?! All the work I was doing for weeks & I hardly lost sh*t, now I'm a mess & I lose weight? I don't know whether to be happy, embarrassed, pissed off or thrilled. I guesswill take this loss & run with it, throwing myself back into my routine. Maybe I accidentally kickstarted my metabolism & it's confused. Yeah, that's it.

It's like I was saying - ya eat more some days...then not the others and it gives your system a serious jolt oftentimes resulting in weight loss.

I think you'll be fine if you throw yourself back into your routine as you say.

Why no electricity? Sorry, I haven't been keeping up.

well, I just weighed and I've lost another 3 pounds. that brings me to a total of 20 pounds lost since beginning of June. I'm like Paula tho...ever since my Conshohocken trip, I've been out of whack with the exercising. diet hasn't been a problem, but I've really only worked out 2, maybe 3 times a week. I am back into my routine as of this week, but still managed to lose 3 pounds. I'm satisfied with that.

oh, and remember how I said I was getting a new diet plan? well, here it is. banana or apple for breakfast, cottage cheese for mid-morning snack, Lean Cuisine/Weight Watchers meal for lunch, cottage cheese or nabs for mid-afternoon snack and another LC/WW meal for dinner (sometimes with a salad). boring? I know. in all fairness tho, I have splurged on the weekends a bit.

jaz, congrats on 20 pounds! that's awesome. my diet's pretty boring right now, too, but hey, it works . the only thing i would suggest with yours is adding a little protein with your fruit in the morning, like a tablespoon of pb or a handful almonds or something. how's the running going? how do you feel? congrats again, jaz - 20 pounds is amazing.

Yeah, how dare you not know everything that's been going on in my life! There was a huge snow storm here on 10/12 & a bunch of trees fell down & knocked out power to most of the area for days.

Here are some pics:

you're right and I never really thought about it until I just typed that up...that it's missing some good protein. I do occasionally eat a salad and chicken breast, but I do need to add some pb or almonds. I feel amazing. my clothes are so loose now and I'm wearing my favorite clothes I haven't been able to wear in a year or more. it's so funny how all the months and dedication fly by and one day you wake up and you've lost weight. I'm glad to be on this end of the scale. I'm so proud of myself and even though I have a little bit to go, I'm halfway there. I really want to lose another 25-30, but I'll be happy with 20.

Congrats on the 20 Jazz---that is awesome!!!

I've been doing the gym and the WW - but last week GAINED .3 pound

I'm telling myself it's muscle since I have been going to the damn gym everyday (well 6 days the week before last, 5 last week). And the weigh-in lady seemed to think that was a reasonable explanation....my clothes ARE starting to feel better...and my favorite part is that I can already feel my stomach jiggle going away.

And I've managed to completely avoid Mexican Soap Opera lady at the gym...so I've been having great workouts w/ the apartment gym ALLL to myself!

Yay, Jazzy! Yeah, do what Carrie suggested... My favourite snack is PB on apple. Sooo good. Fills me up, too. I have a bit of salad each night at dinner, with some sesame seed oil or my mom's homemade dressing. I used to eat a lot of baby spinach; luckily I went off of it long before the whole tainted spinach thing.

Deanna - Good work! I still need to commit myself to some routine exercise, aside from the walking I do every day. I need to build some muscle and get rid of the stomach jiggle, too. Blugh.

You know, Dee, that's so f*cking stupid. The whole "down to the very last ounce" measurement thing. The more I think about it, the more it pisses me off. Stupid WW - I mean - .3 pounds? Every single one of us probably gains & loses that amount at least once a day! You can't (and shouldn't have to) use that to measure your success.

I do think it's good that you have to weigh in weekly, but that silly little .3 pounds gained can make you feel so ****ty, so down on yourself when it really doesn't mean a damn thing in the scope of things! Argh!

I know that you know that Dee, but it just struck me how ridiculous it all is. It's hard enough to count every point, or weigh & measure stuff, and then they nit pick everything down to the last ounce. Bastards.

That said, my friend just weighed in last night & she's down 25 pounds over the course of about 2 months. She bought me an electronic points calculator too - it's so cool! Damn, I love gadgets.

At the same time, if you'd gone after having a bad week and had LOST .3 pounds, wouldn't you be pumped?

I think it's good reasoning to measure the small amounts. It helps you analyze what you've been doing right or wrong when you have that kind of data.

^No. I can honestly say no. I would probably say "that's it?" and be annoyed. I know, it sounds silly, but I'm odd that way I guess.

The weigh in itself if a great way to gauge how you're doing. But I've known several people who have done WW, and all of them at one point have had a great week, they felt really incredible, then the weigh person says "oh, you're up .4 pounds." Well, that probably doesn't mean they were doing anything wrong - maybe they're constipated. Maybe they have their period. Maybe their muscles got bigger.

That small an amount just seems insignificant. Obviously over time, it does add up though.
