OK, I think SUD is in Open E (E B E G# B E), but I've only looked at the first bar or two
If you want to double-check then I'd appreciate it Tunings aren't my thing ![]() |

OK, I'm totally confused now. SUD can be played fine in Open E, BUT in the video Lindsey is playing it in Open E, but it looks like the tuning is moved up a string.
i.e. Where you hear an open E string being played he is actually playing the 2nd (A) string, but tuned to E, the 3rd string tuned to B etc. Look at 1.24 in the video and you'll see he has his fingers on 2nd fret of the 3rd string and 1st fret of the 5th string. The 2nd string is completely open, yet what you hear is 2nd fret on the second string, 1st fret on the 4th string and open 1st string. I've tabbed the first 30+ seconds and at no point does he go onto the 6th (high E) string, so I guess he's just come up with another whacky tuning to make this easier to play. Open E wasn't enough, he had to move the strings closer to his hand I think it's something like this - E E B E G# B. The first E seems to be unused. I'll confirm that once I get the tab finished.I hope that was clear? It's almost 2am here and I should really be asleep. It seems like a lot of rambling ![]() EDIT: Haha, woops, it can't be played in Open E. He does use the 1st string during the chorus. I haven't properly checked but it looks like it's tuned to C# - giving C# E B E G# B. I'll sort it tomorrow afternoon lol. Last edited by Peestie; 10-09-2006 at 08:23 PM.. |
