Default Neal Preston exhibit in LA

Rock Photographer Neal Preston Shows Exhibit At Morrison Hotel Gallery - October 05, 2006

In an unprecedented move for iconoclastic rock photographer Neal Preston, he will be hosting a gallery exhibition of his work at the newly-opened Morrison Hotel Gallery on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood on Thursday, November 9.

Preston, who is perhaps most famous for his fly-on-the-wall, “you are there” photos of Led Zeppelin during the 1970s, is one of the most well-respected photographers in the genre. With a prolific body of work that spans the most significant rock n’ roll decades, Preston has photographed such rock royalty as Zeppelin, The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Queen, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac and many others too numerous to list. Preston was one of the lucky few that were allowed inside, behind the velvet rope, touring with superstars and capturing the entire experience on film. Preston’s work has appeared on numerous magazine covers (Rolling Stone, Time, Newsweek, People, etc.). And now, he has agreed to show his work at his longtime friend (and fellow rock photographer) Henry Diltz’s gallery, the Morrison Hotel Gallery, for the first time in Preston’s 35-year career. “Neal Preston has been a friend and fellow photographer for years,” says Diltz. “Every time I opened a magazine, I would see his name. We're happy to have Neal join us in the Morrison Hotel Gallery.”

According to Preston, “Putting a ‘body-of-work’ exhibition together can be a daunting proposition; this one turned out to be a true labor of love. It reminded me, yet again, what it means to be a real fan of the music. It also reminded me exactly how many hotels I’ve stayed in over the years.”

The Morrison Hotel Gallery, with locations in New York City on Prince Street and in La Jolla, CA, specializes in limited edition and collectable fine art photographs of some of the most historically significant musicians and moments in music. "The Morrison Hotel Gallery is proud to premiere the Los Angeles exhibit of Neal Preston’s fine art music photography,” says gallery co-owner Richard Horowitz. “This extensive exhibit will feature the explosive performance shots, as well as Preston's more intimate, behind the scenes moments in rock n' roll history."

The November 9 opening is a VIP, invitation-only hosted event at the gallery, 7517 Sunset Blvd. Hollywood, CA. There will be an event two nights later, on Sat. Nov. 11, which will be open to the public

Yeah he'll reply to your emails after about 2 month with a price quote, and then when you're interested in purchasing something you never hear back from him.
