Default What's going on with Greatest Hits and Time?

I seem to be seeing the 1988 "Greatest Hits" EVERYWHERE and dirt cheap recently. Also, I've seen a few coppies of "Time" here and there which is rare. Anybody else in the UK noticed this and does anyone have any reason for it? "Greatest Hits" was in Asda and HMV for £2.99 and time was in Virgin and Music Zone for £6.99. Any ideas?

Hello Everybody!!

I'm a uk newbie and somewhat longtime lurker! Hoping to have some good fun here on the ledge.

Yes I have noticed this too. I recently got my GH cd for £2.67 duty free at the airport! Beat that! I now have No Questions Asked on cd for the first time, my life is complete

Theyre selling Time space in HMV for £5.00 and RAL US import for 8. Needless to say I got both!

BTW, When was the last time anyone saw SA on the shelves anywhere? I was beginning to think it might have been deleted!!

Best-of sets usually fall in the "midline" category. These are albums that are sold for less but are still highly desirable. Artists who have stood the test of time usually have a good part of their catalog in the midline market. This is why certain albums keep selling for years and years.

Just goes to show...not everybody has the same taste in music.

Let's remember that Disco, Rap/Hip-Hop, & Opera have fans, too.

And, let's be honest. "No Questions Asked" is NOT one of Stevie's better tunes. (but it IS quite a bit better than "The Second Time")

I'm a Fleetwood Mac fan. Stevie solo? Not so much. But, yeah, what was Side 2 of the Rock A Little LP, to me, was the best stuff Stevie's done solo (and, I agree with you about Side 1...with the exception of "I Can't Wait"...too bad that didn't replace "The Nightmare" on Side 2...thank God for being able to program CDs). TISL is her best overall album, to my ears. And, OSOTM should never have been made, it is a waste of the material it was made from (with the exception of "Rooms On Fire"...that was phenomenal).

oh yeah, I totally get that-I was just teasing him.

And I agree that it is not her best, but I relate to that song, so that is why I love it so

I feel the exact same way about "Time" - what a pointless venture...

Agreed on TISL, although Bella Donna is a close 2nd for me. Maybe even a tie. OSOTM is not a favourite of mine either...except for Ooh my Love and Rooms on Fire.
