In response to new reports that Anna Nicole married her lawyer, Howard K. Stern, in the Bahamas on Thursday, one legal expert explains to us that the move may be part of a cover-up as to the true paternity of Smith's new baby girl.

A family law lawyer tells PerezHilton.com:

"I am positive that the reason they got married is because under the family
law in the Bahamas, if a person marries the mother AFTER birth of the child AND acknowledges he is the natural father (which Howard Stern did on the Larry
King show) -- he is presumed under their laws to be the father of the child.

This gets crazier and crazier.

Part 7 states in relevant part (emphasis supplied) :

Unless the contrary is proven on a balance of probabilities, there is a presumption that a male person is, and shall be recognised in law to be, the father of a child in any one of the following circumstances

So, the presumption is rebuttable. In other words, unless there is caselaw to the contrary, the face of the statute indicates the photog can rebutt the presumption and then apply part 10.

This whole things smacks of La Smith not wanting to be liable for any kind of child support to the photog, who likely has less money than Smith.

I haven't heard of a chronic illness that would indicate a need for methadone. It seems as though that would come out if it were a possibility. I've never seen the reality show they had, but I don't remember hearing of an accident or serious injury.

I posted earlier today there was a mention of back pain but nothing mentioned about any type of chronic pain.

Who knows why he was on methadone

The whole thing is so sad. I do know of some older people who are given methadone to treat chronic back pain. But a young man in his twenties should have never been given that drug for that (if of course, it was). It's horribly addictive (obviously) and the withdrawal is worse than any other. He may have been given it for that though, since he was probably pretty wealthy and the son of a celebrity.

I meant to tell you that the info you posted was very good- methadone is very misunderstood. xo
