I think it's been posted here before Daniel, but here is the story
From; RiverfrontTimes.com Drink of the Week Stevie Nicks The Halo Bar (in the Pageant), 6161 Delmar Boulevard, 314-726-6161 By Randall Roberts Who / What: Stevie Nicks It's best to roll up to the bar Spicoli-style, in a custom van painted with palm trees. Slide open the van door and tumble out, playing finger tambourines. A huge cloud of weed exhaust should follow. Motorin'. Cruisin'. Boozin'. Smokin' down Delmar, headed to the Halo Bar for a little partying, hardy-style. Not drinking beer, because tonight is kind of special. Drinking sweet, sweet liquor. Drinking Chambord and Southern Comfort. And raspberry vodka. And watermelon Pucker. And pineapple juice. All in the same glass. The drink is called the Stevie Nicks, and, alas, it does not contain cocaine, nor must you supposit it up the rectum to appreciate its umph. Even your septum's safe, in fact, because you don't snort the Stevie Nicks (though you can snort virtually anything). You sip it through your cigarette hole. The Halo Bar is, honestly, not a bar we frequent much. Before concerts or after work we're more often at Blueberry Hill or the Pin-Up Bowl, two other Joe Edwards enterprises along the Loop. Before concerts, the Halo's too close to the action; we prefer meeting at one place before rocking at the next, and then going to a third bar afterwards, and then maybe a fourth or fifth. But there is, in fact, incentive to drink at the Halo before shows. Halo patrons are admitted to the Pageant before the losers out front. Plus, the first four people to enter the Halo Bar on show-night get to butt to the front of that line and get a reserved table at the venue. What a deal, especially if you feel like getting to know Stevie Nicks a little better. Really, what can we say about the Stevie Nicks martini that you haven't already determined from a glance at the ingredients? It contains the essence of many fruits: raspberry from the vodka; watermelon from the Pucker; black raspberry from the always-excellent Chambord liqueur; orange and peach liqueur from the Southern Comfort bourbon blend; and pineapple juice. Sounds like a cocktail that'll spin you and your flowing gown 'round and round, and taste as good coming up as going down. Like its namesake, it's not a subtle affair. It is as sweet as that raspy voice of hers. It tastes like a spiked fruit punch and contains all the booze you and your stoner friends used to sneak out of the liquor cabinet. The only thing missing, perhaps, is sloe gin, and maybe some Mountain Dew. Would Mick Fleetwood drink it? Perhaps not. Lindsay Buckingham? No way man. But Stevie would. And despite our initial reticence, the Halo Bar's a good place. On weekends they have DJs until 3 a.m.; they will rule your life like a bird in flight. And who will be your lover? Stevie Nicks, of course, she with the rasp that stirs the heart of many a feather-haired adolescent, who promises you heaven, who rings like a bell through the night. Will you ever win? Of course not, at least not in this life. But after two or three Stevie Nickses, you will no doubt be taken by, taken by the sky... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our bartender, Craig (on Saturday nights) learned the drink when I originally forwared him this article many months ago. It has now became my main drink at Omega, as well as a few other patrons that I've turned onto the drink. After a couple of Stevie's, you are sure to be feeling good ![]()

I might be able to come to this. I'll have to limit my intake of Stevie Nicks cocktails though.

Hey Ledge Peeps,Just thought I’d give a rundown of how the party went. My friend George helped out a lot putting this thing together. This year we transferred a lot of video footage to DVD, my goal was to lighten my load. So G and I get there around 6:30 to set up. We had 3 framed Stevie pics displayed in the windows with Stevie type shawls draped over them (next year we’ll bring the framed Buckingham/Nicks poster for the Linds fans that told me they are coming next year). A table display of Stevie pics in frames with candles and a tambourine. I think it looked really nice. We did take pics and I’ll post them soon hopefully. Two of my lady friends (Laura and Reenie from DE and PA) called me around 7 to say they were in town. I was also expecting Kathy from Destiny Galleria and her friend Peter as well as some local Stevie fans that I knew. The night began and I opened with “The Chain”, and “Everywhere” from the Tango DVD into “Landslide” (Stevie’s solo performance from Melbourne, Australia Feb 2006). I was going thru my DVDs, I turned around and my friend Julio (who said he could not make it) was there … he totally surprised me. Early on another Stevie fan named Mike that I knew from long ago showed up. He’s a big fan and I was wondering if I would see him. He showed up for the “Say You Will” release party I had in April 2003. Stormy, Omega’s semi-resident drag queen was there. Brian, another fan that first showed up at the “Very Best of FM” party I had in Oct. 2002 was there. Daniel and Justin, two friends of Julio were there. Reenie and Justin (two sex pots) were working it on the dance floor. There were also some locals there that were fans that I didn’t realize. Someone who I’ve seen several times but have yet to speak with him was singing along to “Violet and Blue.” So he must have been a fan. Here is a rundown of what I played: As I mentioned I opened with …. The Chain (Tango DVD) Everywhere (Tango DVD) Landslide (Melbourne Feb 2006) … and the rest (can’t remember the exact order) were: Sometimes It’s A Bitch Stand Back (Leno) 1998 Fall From Grace (Blockbuster Awards) 2001 Dreams and Seven Wonders (Tango DVD) Sorcerer (with Sheryl Crow) Ladies First concert VH1 (2002)? Gold Dust Woman (Sheryl Crow and Friends – Central Park) Freedom (Japan promo) 1990 Sisters of the Moon (Tusk) Angel (Tusk) Whole Lotta Trouble Rooms On Fire Skies The Limit Gold Dust Woman (Japan) 77 Rhiannon (Japan) 77 … I played these two back 2 back and everyone clapped after Rhiannon Stand Back (Civil War version) Edge of Seventeen (video that was never released) Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around (outtake video re-racked to the original recording so that it sounds good) If Anyone Falls I Can’t Wait (rockamerica remix) Seven Wonders Little Lies (rockamerica remix) Big Love (rockamerica remix) Everywhere (a cover by the dance act Moustache, which is actually very good) Gold and Braid (In Concert) I Need To Know (In Concert) Stand Back (Saturday Night Live) 1983 The Chain (Live In Boston) Dreams (Live In Boston) Peacekeeper (Leno) 2003 Say You Will (Sessions Live @ AOL) Blue Denim (Leno) 1994 Sorcerer Every Day Other clips G and I put together … Remember from Storytellers someone asks Stevie “what’s the deal with the “Blue Lamp”? We played that clip then played the song set to a montage of Stevie using the Blue Lamp pics then into various moving clips of Stevie from various interviews and performances. The Nightmare (special vocal remix) again we made a clip to go along with the song. Sister Honey (various Stevie stills) Violet and Blue (various Stevie stills) I also played a power set (3 videos mixed together) of covers Stand Back by Linus Loves Everywhere by LnM Projekt Dreams by Deep Dish feat. Stevie I also had another remix of the Deep Dish “Dreams” video (thanks for a new DJ friend of mine) set to a different remix of the song, which is the Tocadisco Remix. This video contained clips of Stevie singing Dreams from 77 and In Concert. Fajita roundup from SNL featuring, Lucy Lawless as Stevie. I’ve played this before but it’s just too funny to not play every year. Wayne World top 5 musical babes with Stevie being #4. They make fun of Stevie (just a lil’ by singing Dreams) then I went into Dreams from the Today show from late 2005. Also played Stevie and Sheryl on Leno when Jay asks them what they have in common. Coke or Pepsi, McDonalds or Burger King, etc … “now the really important question – Backstreet Boys or N Sync” with Stevie answering N Sync, the Leno audience applauded her answer then I went right into “Pop” by N Sync .. they liked that. I also played Hole’s Gold Dust Woman and Jonas’ Edge of Seventeen. I may be missing a few but that was pretty much the bulk of it. I didn’t play too much Lindsey but I do have most of his videos. The crowd will sometimes dictate what I play so, if Lindsey fans show next year I will certainly play more of him. Some of my friends from FL and PA that could not make it this year said they would be there next year so, I hope more of you can make it. You have a whole year to plan. Mark your calendars for either Oct 20 or 27 – 2007. Thanks! Travis
