Yeah, it's tough! But this will only go on for a few weeks until House goes off because of baseball. My boyfriend loves having the House episodes Tivo'd, but I don't care. I'm going to tape House for him so I can Tivo my girls. I haven't taped something in a couple of years- lol.

I'm through discs 1, 2, and part of 3 for Season 5 so I am catching up. I can't believe Rory lost her virginity to Dean! And while he was married! Damn. They just broke up at this point and she's been getting to know Logan. That secret society episode was really neat.

The season finale for season 4 kind of sucked. Lorelei and Luke's first kiss was forced after the whole Jason showing up thing. That was so contrived and they should have just left him out. It would have made the episode much more romantic.
See, I love the final three episodes of Season 4. The real GG dorks call them The Trilogy. The episode "Last Week's Fights, This Week's Tights" with Liz's Ren wedding is my favorite episode ever. I start howling when Mr. Rosso from Freaks and Geeks comes out with the toy song. And then the dance, to one of my favorite Sam Phillips songs... sigh. I love that episode. I love when Lorelai starts freaking out about Luke and does the stuff like falling all over the table in the diner. I love it.

And I love the L/L kiss. What buildup- I love how he finally just kissed her out of sheer annoyance. It's so him. I like it all. But man, that Rory sleeping with Dean stuff was horrific. Just horrific. Uggghhhh.

I'm excited to see the premiere tonight. I want the anticipation to be over- I want to know whether it will have potential this year or if it's just going to suck some ass from the very start.

The dance was priceless, I loved that episode too. I guess I thought the 2 eps preceding the finale were better but it was still good. "Stand still!" That was funny. Again, I just wish they left Jason out!

Thanks again for the tip on the bargain at Target on s4 and 5. I'm obsessed.

So do you go to fan sites? If so, what are the good ones?

Oh yeah, did you notice that in the Ren wedding ep Liz describes the dress as white with flowy sleeves but in the wedding it is actually ivory (almost tan) and has tapered sleeves? You can't get a goof like that past this fashionista!

Isn't it funny how strong the emotional hook is to this show? You're nervous about a show!

You know, I'm surprised to say it, but I liked it. A lot. I liked seeing the girls together so much, which I've missed for the past couple of years. And Rory was cute, not screechy and annoying.

I loved Lorelai's monologue about clinging to the bumper. It was perfectly written and done. I think it expressed EVERYONE'S frustrations with it all. And the final scene with Luke and his packed up truck broke my heart. BROKE my heart. Tears, etc. It was good.

I'm looking forward to seeing next week. I don't know how long I can stomach a Lorelai-Chris relationship, but I'm going to try.

I missed it. The shows I'm watching have L&L together and happy. Sucks that they wrote it not working. But the show will probably end with them together. We'll see.

i pretty much stopped watching it last season after the whole long lost daughter bit. as a viewer, you knew they were going to have to throw some sort of a wrench into the whole luke/lorelai relationship or else, you basically wouldn't have a show anymore. however, the whole dna testing bit really turned me off and i thought it was pretty much ridiculous.

that said, i watched last night without very high expectations. it was nice to finally not be annoyed by rory though i wanted to punch lorelai in the face a few times -- especially since you could feel her blurting out that she slept with chris coming from a mile away.

it's been said that the relationship will be like this for most of the season due in part to the fact that scott patterson and lauren graham apparently don't get along in real life.

anyone else hear this?

The April thing last season was horrific. Just horrific. That's why I appreciated Lor's mini-speech about clinging to the bumper so much. At least they finally just said it, and got it out there so clearly. But April's not going away anytime soon- I think Luke & her mother are going to start some kind of relationship.

The SP/LG hating each other thing has been circulating for a long time and I for one do believe it. LG's also been quoted several times as saying that she thinks that Lorelai should be with Christopher in the end... she also possibly has the delusion that that's the way the fans would prefer it. Ha.

Supposedly, Lorelai is going to have a real breakdown about the Luke situation in either next week's episode or the week after. I'm a sucker for LG's breakdowns. When they broke up in the fifth season- I just cried and cried along with her.

Dude, Scott Patterson is 48, he does not look it! He does charity work for children too. His b-day is Sept 11. I haven't heard anything about his relationship to LG though, I just googled them and didn't find anything but some fan fiction showing them arguing.

Here's a good interview with SP in '04. http://www.tv-now.com/intervus/scottpat/index.html

her speech was the.best.part of the entire episode. truly.

i found the whole thing with rory attempting to find meaning in the rocket really stupid. then when she suddenly decides she's going to take off to london over the summer and he says "hey, got you a ticket for december," not going to lie -- i laughed. i guess you're not going to see your beloved logan anytime soon *tear*

lauren graham as a person is ten kinds of crazy. i saw her at a live taping for conan a few years back. she was all over the place. i feel like the role of lorelai either isn't a stretch for her or she's become the character. she spoke about 90 miles a minute and was so.strange. and if she thinks the fans want her to be with christopher in the end? she's even crazier than i initially thought.

Yeah, he's a stone cold OLD fox. He used to be a professional baseball player, too.

I know! I just read that, I'm mildly obsessed now. He seems pretty humble and there is something about LG that leads me to believe she may be sort of a diva. Maybe that causes the friction. That probably also works very well for their characters.

I think it's funny to watch Rory get dicked around by Logan. I laughed at that part too. Oops.

Dude, have you ever seen her on Ellen? She gets even nuttier. She is very Lorelai-esque. You can't tell where the character starts and she begins. But then you see her in movies like Bad Santa and stuff, and she's totally chill. Who knows.

I heard somewhere she's going to be on Studio 60 for a few episodes soon.

...I can never get away from the Lukes... LOLOL

Suze- he was also the "sponge-worthy" guy on that episode of Seinfeld and was a guest star in a popular episode of Will & Grace where he played some guy Grace had a crush on from high school or something who called her and wanted to go out with her after a picture was published in the paper of her where it looked like she had enormous boobs.
