I like these town pics. Carrie, your town is cute. Tooootally made me eat my ass on what I thought the midwest was like. lol. Actually, I figured it was nice, just pretty flat.
And, the only person that showed us some mountains of my spirit was Irishgrl. Of course. California foothills and mountains are so amazing. That's my place, I'm that girl.
Anyhoot - I don't have many pics of my actual hometown, but I do have a few of where I live. They are repeats, though. Which makes them no less awesome, but may make them a smidge more boring. To those who have seen them. Gah, I should take my camera out more. My vacation pics are way better, but that would be cheating, even though I feel like that is where I really live.

Hey, Paula - this is what you might see to your left as you first wake up - I call it the "ugly window". Right Above your head will be the "good window"

The clouds, repeat. Hopefully we can take some awesome new pics here soon. The trees are on fire right now. Okay, actually most are still summer green, but it still looks good. This is from before.

So there's all these houses I like...

et cetera. I must say, I really enjoy the pics.

Amber, I was born in Oakland, and when I was commuting into the city to law school on BART, we used to pass thru a section of Oakland (Rockridge?) that looked like it was being refurbished/rennovated...I really liked all the cute little homes I saw...I happen to love old Victorians, and I like all the wood shingling. Once, when I worked in the library at my community college, we were doing a huge cleaning, and I had the section of the alphabet at the beginning....I saw a lot of books on architecture, and I ended up checking out a book or two on Bay Area Architects and their styles. VERY enlightening. Many of those styles found their way to Chico. Have you ever just ridden around parts of Chico to see the different house styles? Bungalows, Craftsman, Victorian, Spanish, Art Deco....its all there. And my favorite house on 8th St, I call the Wavy Gravy house. It has a unique roof shingling style called slump. its so cool! Take a drive sometime down East First Street (turns into West First I think!) or even the Esplanade....

Im glad you liked my pics, they came from a local website where you can see local shots. I love this part of the State, it SMELLS good. I know you love this area too, but be warned, there's not a lot of money to be made here, (unless you're in medicine, and there's WAAAAAAY too many attorneys!) thats why Im working for the County....

PS: just for you Amber, I found a site that has a slide show of Chico/Paradise pics:

Photo Tour of NorthValley

here's one of Chico's historic homes:

Well my window does not have that view, ha ha,, my street is inner..
but it's just 2 blocks from the cliff to the beach, and it's very nice in the summer, you can wake up early in the morning to run. And winter is not so strong so you can do it the whole year.

However you can see the coast is desertic, so I'm jealous of you guys who live near forest and woods. It's very beautiful those towns in the US, Europe, Australia, etc..

michael - geez, you DO live in paradise! so green and beautiful. also, the language difference cracks me up, because if *i* posted pictures of *my* bush, i'd probably be banned.

amber - thanks. downtown kent is pretty nice. i could take some pics of some strip malls and home depots if you want a more typical representation of the midwest. your pics are lovely. i really liked the last house picture and the water pic.

sparky - sorry, i probably should've clarified . that ugly shop does not belong to our lovely, non-asshole, non-smelly sparky.

Default Downtonw Lima

I thought you would enjoy these. This is not my neighborhood but downtown Lima, 5 miles from my district (Miraflores)

This is the main cathedral

the goverment palace, where the president lives

the arzobispal palace, the Pope stayed here while he visited Peru

Torre Tagle palace, another colonial building from the years Spain owned Peru (the virreynato, kind of viceroydom) the balconies are gorgeous!!

All are typical Lima architecture from colonial times and beginning of the republic

Villavic - your town looks so rich in history. It's pics like those that remind me how "young" our country is.

so I finally got around to posting pics on this thread.

Here is part of my high school. Well, this is all there was when I graduated. We only had 10, 11 and 12. Then they added on and brought the freshmen over. It goes on forever but I'll refrain from posting .

Here is my office where I work

Here is probably one of the prettiest churches in Henderson. I actually grew up in this church, but I don't go there anymore.

ahh...Rookies. I've spent many o' nights getting drunk here. Anyone remember my 21st Birthday story?? Yeah-this is it.

Good ol' Ohio River. There is usually a water feature that is actually really pretty right there. But they shut it down last week

Default Henderson Cont.

Downtown:

Central Park:

Central Park water fountain:

This is my favorite house in Henderson. They just remodeled it and put it on the market. I believe they are asking $400,000 so if anyone wants to swing down here and buy it, I'll be your roommate!!

Same house-"slightly" slanted...:

Hendo Library:

More downtown:

The house where they filmed A League Of Their Own
I have no idea whose car that is. There were a ton of them along that curb

Main Street. You can't see it...but one of the first houses on the right is where my grandparents used to live. They have moved to Florida now

Well these are of my hometown, Milford CT, not ugly Willimantic where I live now. -__-

I didn't take them, they're from some website I found. But they're ok. One day I'll get some of the photos my mom has taken of our neighborhood.

Some pretty waterfront cottages. A friend of mine used to live in one of those.

The ugly beach nearest to my house.

Some picture of our Town Hall. It really isn't that nice.

Some cute new condos they just built in the center of town, on the water. They're waaaaaaay overpriced.

I'm going to take my camera with me tomorrow and try to represent where I live. I don't live in a quaint or even particularly pretty area, but I'll do my best. Now, where I'm from originally (eastern Long Island) is beautiful- but that would be cheating.

Part 2:

The slightly prettier and way bigger Silver Sands State Park. That's Charles Island in the background. Yep. The haunted one.

The harbor.

Inside of our unexciting mall.

The Pier and the ugly Gulf Beach. -_-

The restaurant my boyfriend works at. I don't know why it was on that website.
