so, i'm always really curious about what other people's towns look like. so i thought i'd post some pictures of mine. i took these today while walking home from work. it was a really weird day because the sun was out, but there were also a lot of dark clouds in the sky.

here i am standing on the bridge downtown, facing north. the white building in the background is the tallest building in kent ... a grain silo!

franklin square deli. this is where i toil daily, making sandwiches for unappreciative bastards. i mean ... customers.

here's a nice autumn-y shot. kent's a nice-looking town, kinda. that building on the corner that i'm facing used to be thompson's, a cool, locally-owned drug store. now it's smokin' tattooz. yeahhhhh. one of five tattoo shop in a two-block area.

another tattoo shop. this one's sparky's tattoos. sparky's an asshole and comes to the deli way too often. and smells bad. but look - he'll pierce both your nipples for $60! sweet ****!

here we go. this is turnup records, complete with chinese-lantern-cum-turnip in the window. they sell second hand vinyl and communist/conspiracy-theorist literature.

this is a "headstone" at the mock cemetary for extinct species of north eastern ohio. poor big-eared bats!

right after 9/11, someone threw a brick through those front doors.

and finally ... my street. you can't see my house, though ... it's on the right, after that stop sign.

Wow!! Kent looks like a cozy, quaint little place. And what a great idea - I think I'll take my camera to work with me tomorrow!!

yeah, a lot of kent is really quaint! especially my neighborhood, which is about 2 blocks from downtown. unfortch, there's also a lot of sprawl happening & housing developments are popping up everywhere. our school system is very well-respected in the area, so it attracts a lot of cleveland commuters.

can't wait to see your pics!

i live in between princeton and trenton but frequent princeton often. i just took these on friday afternoon. i can't wait for the fall foliage there (princeton university) and on my campus as well.

I live in Miraflores, a neighborhood of Lima, in south pacific coast. I love my place

this is the shore near my home, I live two blocks from here:

Very cute little town, Carrie!

Yeah, I could so just see me taking photos of my town. "Here is the big ugly prison where Charles Manson used to be held. Here are the ugly sprawling Outlet Stores where they sell last year's crap at a reduced price. Here's the enormous monstrosity of a Catholic church whose bells wake me up in the morning. Here's the church that used to be a movie theater. Here's the other church that used to be a movie theater. Here's the church that shares the same parking lot as the second church that used to be a movie theater. Here's a gas station that closed down. Here are the two gas stations built across the street from the one that closed down. Here is another gas station that closed down. Here are some more gas stations across the street from the other one that closed down..."

those pictures are so cool! those buildings are amazing, and the trees are beautiful. my favorite was the one with the lion statues flanking either side. very nice.
