It depends on my teaching schedule, but I usually go to bed around midnight. On weekends, usually around 2:00 am.

Good God - if I could sleep all the time I would...

Typically I go to bed between 11 and 1am. And I get up between 9 and 11am. I LOVE that I can just hop into work anytime I want...it really allows me to get the amount of sleep I want.

Lately, though I've been trying to cap my sleep at 8 hours....

I used to be such a night owl. Worked 3p-11p for years, loved it. I'd go to bed around 2am. get up by 11am.

Over the past 5 or 6 years, I somehow switched. Yes, I got a day job, but I don't find it tortuous to be up early anymore. Weekdays I'm usually in bed between 10pm - 11:30pm (depending on what's on TV ) I try to get up by 7am so I can work out before work, but that only actually happens about once a week. It's usually 7:30 or so.

Weekends are hit & miss. If I'm at home doing nothing, I can easily pass out by 10pm. If I'm out & about or drinking, I can easily stay up until 3am. Either way, I'm good on 7.5-8.5 hours of sleep. More or less & I feel like crap.

All you morning people. I HATE mornings, and always have. I knew at 14, that I wanted to find a profession that didn't involve mornings(or suits). I usually go to bed about 4AM(give or take an hour), and get up between 11:30 and 12:30. I try to get up at noon, because there's an Andy Griffith on then!

I need at least 6&1/2 hrs, to not feel like a zombie.

Whenever. I used to really push it on the weekends and summers, staying up until 5:00, 6:00, even 7 in the morning before calling it a uh, night. If I have to be up for class or something, it really depends on what time that is. I try to go to bed no later than 1AM.

If left to my own devices, I wake up any time between 7am and 1pm, no matter what. I can get through a day on four or five hours. I know, I'm terrible. I hate sleeping in really late like that. I've been trying to even things out a bit more. I always say I'm going to go to bed "early", but then I find something on TV, or I get distracted on here, and before I know it, time has goten away from me!

I usually go to sleep around 10.30 to 11.30 pm most nights, and get up at about 8.30 am

I love to sleep

When I was a bartender, I had a similar schedule, Amber. I would get home from work aound 3am and be asleep by 4am. But I usually woke up at around 9-10am and ended up taking an hour power nap later in the day before work. It's funny, but even though I maintained that schedule for years- after midnuight, no matter how busy it was, I would start to feel ****ty and tired.

Now, I go to bed aroung 10:30pm-11:30pm and get up at around 7am. The IDEAL for me would be asleep by midnight and up at 8am.

Another issue for me is that I *cannot* sleep when it's daylight outside. Even if I stay up until 3am, I will wake up whenever the sun comes up.

Yep. Stupid morning people.

You guys all seem pretty normal, cept Carrie. Except actually I'm surprised at how early everyone gets up, and how little sleep they need. I have to say I definitely wake up much better since I quit smoking. But my ideal sleep time still seems to be about 9 hours. On weekends I often wake up about noon, or 1:00. Rarely much earlier. If I'm up by 10:30 or 11 I feel like I got a really good head start on the day. I also nap pretty often. In the summer when I didn't have class it was hard for me to stay awake after work, like between 5:30 and 8. Coincidentally, there is nothing really on TV then. But of course, that makes me stay up late, if I've had that nap. Which is fine. I mean, it is really hard for me to be tired and go to bed, I feel like I'm missing something. Yeah, it's probably that I'm missing those 5 hours I slept through when everyone else was already up in the morning.

I have to say, when I cut the coffee or soda, I can sleep a bit earlier. But I only have usually half a cup of coffee. Whatever.

It seems like alot more women are morning people than men.

And caffeine definitely f*cks up my sleep. That's why I usually have my two cans of TAB for breakfast, and that's all my caffeine for the day.

Hmm..that's true - except my brother in law is totally a morning person.

Even if I go to bed super early I still can't get up before 9ish without feeling like ass - I HATE mornings - and am happiest when I can just sleep as I wish - which my job allows me to do...

My sister swore than when I hit my twenties I'd be unable to sleep in - WRONG! I just do better at night

I know a couple of guys that are morning people. But nearly ALL the women I know are morning people.

I have my bedroom windows completely blacked out, so my room is near to pitch black. In the winter, I'll turn the thermostat waaaay down(like 55, maybe even lower), and have a HEAVY quilt on me. It is only THEN, that I sleep like a baby! Just about the only thing I like about winter, is my ability to really sleep!
