I don't mind some short styles; some people can really pull them off. But what is with this supposed age limit on long hair?

My mother keeps bugging me (I'm 35) about when I'm going to cut my hair short since I'm "getting older." Now I have curly hair and my routine consists of a daily shampoo/conditioner, combing through my hair with the conditioner in, towel dry and some sort of curl enhancer (either spray or mousse) and then I just let it dry, That's it. I don't even own a hair dryer. Whereas my mother with her short do has to blow dry her hair and use product. Why should I cut my hair and create more work for myself?

Oh...and I'm getting grey in the front and she's aghast I'm not coloring it (like she does). I just can't be bothered with the time and the expense. I think I'm going to get a recent pic of Grace Slick and send it to her!
