About a decade ago, I predicted to all of my friends that one day in the next 15-20 years we would all be listening to oldies stations too. Just because no other station would be playing music we liked. And, most of my pals are now listening to "classic rock" stations, as that is where the music they like gets played. And that is oldies by another name. I don't listen to radio much at all (other than NPR) but that's where Stevie/Mac get almost all of their airplay.
Cursed by aging, I suppose.

Those are not her songs and she never did them before. So, in a tour with no record to support, she sang two different things she never sang before (not to mention SYWBARRS with Don H. ) -- So, the facts suggest that while she has over 30 years of material to chose from, she adds different songs to each tour set and those songs are not her hits and/or even her material.

But, people will call her what they want no matter the facts. So be it.
Totally off topic but I just watched Silver Springs from The Dance on youtube for old time's sake. That is still one of my favorite performances ever (not to mention how fabulous she sonds)! I'm the futherest thing from a "shipper" but I still wait for the moment when they finally lock eyes and she turns her mic and sings to him "never get away!!". I get chills every time.

I don't think it's pointless.
It's interesting to me to hear what people think and why.

I started getting into Stevie in late 1985/early 1986... by that point, to kids my age (13 at the time), Stevie & Fleetwood Mac were already "oldies acts." That was fine with me though -- I always preferred the "oldies" to the "young hipsters" anyway. I related to their music better, just the way I related better to older people than I did to kids my own age.

Yeah, I wouldn't say it's pointless.
I would say it is fruitless though.

I still listen to the radio (although now I have XM Satellite) and the majority of time I listen to 80's stations which is the music I grew up on. I guess that would be considered oldies to some people too so my definition of oldies (50's and 60's music) is forever changing.

It's a good one. She used that stuff all up, though.

I believe it was a single and tanked at like, 70 or something.
Somewhere around here I have a 45 and 12" of it.

It was a single, and it did kind of tank @ 86... Here's a list of all their Hot 100 entries.

I am a real fan. I am also a realist. I also speak my mind whether you like it or not. I'm not some mindless drone who can listen to Stevie sing the phone book half assed and think it's brilliant when it's not.

When Stevie does well, I say so. When she sucks it, I say so. I was downright giddy over her rendition of "Woodstock" because she sang it with more fire under her than she has sung much of anything in a while.

Music critics were accusing her of sounding "bored" and "listless" on stage as far back as the 'Rumours' and 'Tusk' tours, so I've realized it's all relative.

I saw a bored and/or sick performance on the Tusk tour.

The birth of my cynicism, at the tender age of 14....

Yes indeed it was but the single version was different. It had this stupid wirey noise all the way through it. Maybe if they had released the original TUSK version we all know and love then it might have charted higher?

I agree. Stevie has done her fair share of crap over the years. I can't stand 65% of Rock a Little and her stuff on tango other than Seven Wonders leaves a lot to be desired. I think Paper Doll deserved to get higher than 103 lol. However, I disagree on the oldies part. I'm 16!!! My mate Hannah who got me into Stevie is 16!! I know loads of younger fans. I think as long as Stevie keeps releasing and touring and...basically keeps active, she won't be an oldies act. An oldies act is someone who is no longer around anymore and who are remembered for the "classics". I think in years to come the fans will remember "Trouble in Shangri-La" as much as "Bella Donna" or even "Rumours". Stevie still has a lot left in her and she has moved with the times. So SSSHHHUUUUUDDDDDAAAAAAPPPPP!!!
