$81 CDN for the good seats and $27 for lawn. I would only do lawn if it were just for Tom and if I was with someone but I would never do lawn if Stevie was going to be there.

It looks pretty good to me. Hopefully they will confirm Stevie's appearance soon. I think the article was vague about whether or not she is doing the entire 3rd leg.

I've started adding this to my nightly prayers. I'm also asking for the Giants to make the playoffs, so I hope I'm not asking Him for too much.

Stevie Nicks is expected to join Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on stage Oct. 21 in Indian Wells, but promoters still won't say who their Highway Companions will be when the tour comes runnin' down Highway 111 to the Tennis Garden. It won't be the Dandy Warhols, who were just announced for a new date Oct. 27 in Berkeley. But an AEG Live spokeswoman said Warhol fans won't be disappointed. Possible candidates include Beck, who was just added as an opener for Petty on Sept. 27 at Coors Amphitheatre in San Diego, and Frank Black of the Pixies, who opened for Petty's first two Berkeley concerts. Beck is a favorite at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival, promoted by AEG Live subsidiary Goldenvoice. The Pixies solidified their comeback at Coachella with an electrifying set. Other opening acts on the Heartbreakers' 30th anniversary tour have included the Strokes, the Allman Brothers and Pearl Jam, who performed Goldenvoice's first concert at the Empire Polo Club in 1993. Pearl Jam will be on a break in October between tours of Europe and Australia. A Stevie Nicks Web site says the former Fleetwood Mac star will sing several songs with Petty on 12 dates of his Highway Companion Tour, including Indian Wells. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 15 through Ticketmaster and at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden box office. |

imagine that.
I emailed JK about the Berkeley shows and he said that he has no information at this time, but as soon as it's passed on to him, he'll post. it makes no sense. I don't understand why they wouldn't want (or maybe just don't make the effort) the fans to know prior to the event. it's not like it's a "surprise" anymore. |

Assuming this info is true, what would the 12 be?
Chicago-Indian Wells? That's 12 consecutive dates. I don't see her doing anything after 10/21, since she'll probably be in NYC rehearsing for Hulaween. |

You know, I wouldn't take that Indian Wells article too seriously. It just says Stevie Nicks is "expected" to be there. I think the writer just got on the web and read all the articles about how Stevie is doing the 3rd leg with Petty and made an assumption. And the "12 shows" thing is probably yet another rumor on a fan website.
It is very unfortunate that we can't just get some confirmed dates in a timely manner (like we did with the first leg). Stevie's management should know that her fans are really into this and willing to fly to other cities if they know she will be there. Stevie Nicks with Tom Petty is a dream come true for many of us. I feel very lucky that it worked out for me to see this in NY, but I would be pissed off if I learned this once in a lifetime event had happened in my hometown without even a heads up from the official website (like happened in Seattle or Portland). I'm trying hard not to be negative on this board these days, but stuff like this really gets to me. Is she or is she not in Toronto tonight. If not, why not post on Nickfix saying the shows she won't be playing so that people can move on. EDIT: P.S. Where the hell is Indian Wells???? |
