I agree that it may not have changed the sales of Rumours, but I think it would've been a number 1 hit.

There's a classic rock station here in Maine that plays the original recording of Silver Springs from time to time. It also plays Lindsey's song, Trouble, and Bob Welch's Ebony Eyes. SOMEONE there is a FM fan!!

ok, so I actually had both of these. Kansas City and Milwaukee right?? I listened to both of them. I LOVE KC. I get chills on my legs, people!!! When she says "I KNOW I could have loved you" at about 3:31 in the song is awesome. The trill in her voice almost makes me cry.

Milwaukee wasn't all that. It was very slow and mournful. Not very "following you down-like" But on a high note of this version-I love stevie's use of "well" so much. She does it in other songs. It's like.."well..your ass better listen up because I'm getting ready to say something important!!!

well, to be fair to the milwaukee performance, i think that tape may be slowed down. in addition to being a slower tempo, it's also about a half-step lower.

well, it also seems very shaky to me. Like, she cant decide if she wants to sing it high or low. I'm assuming it was the first live performance?? So maybe she was a little nervous.

If you could do that, I'd be eternally grateful! It's one of my all-time favorites of hers

Thanks! Martha

Yep, that's my story! I remembered the song from the radio when I was a kid, and hunted for it when I got a little older(teenage) and I finally bought a japanese import single. I couldn't forget the "follow you down till the sound..." part. It was just stuck in my head all those years.

^^Isn't it though? I've been listening to it non-stop. I made my friend listen to it all the way to Nashville yesterday.

Thanks for posting this. Did she perform this song on the whole tour and if so why is there no video out there of a SS performance?

I remember radio playing Silver Springs a lot in my area (K101 FM in San Francisco) when I was growing up. They always mentioned how it got booted off Rumours.

I prefer "Ill follow you down 'til the sound of my voice will haunt you" part.
