I'd love to help you pick a song but I don't know what's best for your voice but I will say there are certain types of songs that I think the judges dig.

Okay, I have a wristband and I'm all set for the auditions. They start tomorrow at 5:00AM

but I am really excited. The songs I chose are Crazy Love by Van Morrison and if they ask me to sing one more it will be Let's Stay Together by Al Green. Sorry Amber, no flashdance.

Tomorrow is the big day, and the forms I have to fill out and read are telling me to be ready to stay all day. Thanks to all of you for your good wishes.

Well, I'm back home. Didn't make it past the first round, but it was a really fun day. I auditioned for a producer for the show, and she said I had a really strong voice and had good tone. It just wasn't what they were looking for this season. I can accept that, and I'm proud of myself for trying. I rocked Let's Stay Together, and even got a little applause from the stands when I was finished.

Given that there were about 8,000 people trying out and only 40 or so made it through to the second round, I'm not heartbroken or anything. It was a fun day and it was cool to be a part of it all. Oh, and I got a look at Seacrest up close...dude wears a lot of makeup. A lot.

Thanks again for all of the kind wishes. You guys rock!

I'm just hoping that there arent too many morons from Minneapolis that they show when the show starts, but I know thats too much to expect. Glad you had a good time Mike!
