Checking-In & Catching Up

Just wanted to say "hello" to everyone... it's been a couple of weeks since I last posted. Some of you knew that my mother's been sick -- well, two weeks ago she ended up in the hospital. She couldn't eat/hold anything down, she was getting weaker, she couldn't sleep, etc. The doctor there told us that it was a good thing we brought her in when we did, because the most recent medication the family doctor had put her on, was all wrong for her and she was only going to get sicker because it was messing with her stomach. It's weird, because for the first couple of days of taking that med, she seemed to be ok -- but then she started having all kinds of problems.

She's been home for a little over a week now, and even though she's still having some rough days here and there, she seems to be doing better overall. Thankfully.

In other news, my boyfriend Joshua (Ledgies may know him as "riff_shuffler"), and his best friend, just spent a week here, and we all had a really terrific time. I definitely needed an opportunity to unwind and "let my hair down"... I haven't had that much fun in far too long.

I'm finally back to work and trying to get caught up on a lot of things. There are some renovations going on at the library and various projects that I was supposed to have finished a month ago to prepare for the renovations. My co-workers did some, but most of it was still waiting for me. Luckily, one of our teen patrons has volunteered to help me out for the time being, and I think he's going to end up doing his senior project through us, so he'll be around to assist for a while. That'll be a huge help.

So that's everything in a nutshell! How's everyone here? Did I hear something about David O. being sick? I really hope he's all right.

Hey...I was tempted to write many a thread "where's jstew???" but I thought I would cut you some slack for some reason...now I know why. Great that your mom is doing better...I am sorry she had to undergo such in the first place! Very cool that you can be there for her - that's her beautiful son!!! David O. has some health issues, hopefully he is doing well and will drop in on us Ledgies again very soon.
