Default Hello and a rant...

Hi guys! I've been a huge fan of this band and of Stevie's solo work since around early 1998. A complaint I have is that the media keeps rehashing the same old things about these people. I know they do this with every artist but it just annoys me. This is what I got out of all of her interviews during the TISL era:1.Sheryl Crow, Sheryl Crow, Sheryl Crow 2. Tom Petty's 95 pep talk 3.drug addiction 4.some songs from TISL were from the '70's. I just wish they would cover different topics. Sorry about the rant-had to do it!

Yeah, those guys get their little "talking points" and it's tough to get them to stray from them. The good interviews are the ones that do that, they prod them to open up a little bit. I remember, though, on Leno when Jay popped some surprise questions at Stevie like "paper or plastic" and she said "I use cash" that that spontenaity didn't work too well. lol But on Letterman, when she got to talking about Bill Murray, things got interesting.

Lindsey also has this trouble, sometimes saying the same things in interviews word for word - but he seems to have gotten better. In his BTM, I kept listening for his usual phrases about package deals and cycles, and they didn't come up. Good for Lindsey! Now let's see what happens when they promote the new album (if they EVER get that thing out!)

Default The interviewers

Jim Ladd and Mary Turner were always great interviewers because they would do exactly that - stray from the talking points. They both got Lindsey and Stevie to talk about stuff that nobody else ever got into.

Who's Mary Turner?

Anyway, I was listening to an excellent intervew when Stevie was promoting Timespace, I don't know who did it, but it was great, and she even got Stevie to talk about Silver Springs and how she was furious with Mick.: "No one ever messes with my family.Ever."
