Good to "see" ya! I do remember him saying that, but like you, I can't recall if it was in DR or some article. Of course, with those two...I'm not sure it's possible. LOL It would be very interesting if that ever happens. I wonder if it would be like Lindsey writing the music and Stevie writing the lyrics or they collaborate on both. Who knows.

You certainly have every right to that opinion, but I have to respectfully disagree. Some of the best songs are sad songs, so if "Down on Rodeo" is lugubrious, then I think that's a GOOD thing. I'd add "Street of Dreams" and "Say Goodbye" to that list, too. And they also happen to be some of my favorite Lindsey songs.

What do you mean by "antimusical?" Do you mean "not musical" or "anti- musicals," like Carousel, Chicago, etc.? I'm not trying to be a jerk---I sincerely don't understand what you mean.

The concept--& possibly the word itself--comes from a nearly forgotten review, possibly in Rolling Stone, of Stevie's contribution to the "Boys on the Side" soundtrack. When I post stuff, I just combine bits & pieces of everything I have ever read or heard. It doesn't necessarily make linear or logical sense; it's more my form of painting. The Ledge is my canvas.

It's funny but I thought that Frozen Love was co-written for some reason. No doubt if I go check on that it will be an SN song, but I thought it was the 'one song BN wrote together'? Or was it 'sung together', in terms of the shared singing parts?

She said she gave him credit because he wrote & arranged the long instrumental. I would imagine she wrote all the words, but I think he wrote the chord progression, which seems a little advanced for her.

Shuffle Riff is as far from acoustic as one can get. I bet it'll be on the second one.

And, I'll bet it WON'T be titled "Shuffle Riff", either. That is a CLASSIC case of a "working title". (like "Brushes" was the working title for "Never Going Back Again"...or "Scrambled Eggs" was the working title for the Beatles' "Yesterday")

along with "wear you down" ...cuz that was the real business. i .loved. that demo.

11 tracks is not a bad offering, considering how lindsey's songs seemed to have increased in length. the shut us down cover itself is over 5 minutes. but really, i'm not holding my breath that this list is accurate (although it does make sense in its own ways), and i'm not putting any .02 in until i see the track listing on the cd itself.. or if it is officially announced before hand. that being said, i won't be sad either way in respect to the appearance or absence of the GOS songs. what lindsey wants us to hear is what i want to hear. i hope sneaking a listen at the demos won't have ruined some of the excitement of the new record for me.

as far as 2nd record speculation goes.. if there is a 2nd "electric" album, i'd bet that it was near completion if not already.. maybe a little explanation for the length of time this has taken?

i have never been disappointed by this man and his music and i am not going to start acting like i am now... before the record has even been released. ridiculous.

There's also a little message board there for him, which I wrote something on, so if you so desire...say something nice about Lindsey. Or not. Whatever.

All but 3 of the tracks have 3 word titles (eg Down On Rodeo, Not Too Late etc).

I just hope that Lindsey found -again- a new way to morph his incredible talent into longlasting songs. Shut Us Down is a masterpiece, so if that's the norm for the rest we're up for another mindblowing and intriguing album, that will gather a big critical acclaim. Bring out an earpiercing weird single please.
