Regarding SYW single releases, I think Peacekeeper and Say You Will were the strongest contenders, at least the most commercial and accessible. Running Through The Garden, Thrown Down, and Steal Your Heart Away were all sent to radio. But all tanked.

When did Running Through the Garden get sent to radio?

I don't like WTWCT. The vocal is too whiny. I like the "aah ah ah ah, ahh ah ah ah" part though.

you're right. i can only listen to WTWCT once in a while because songs with such an overwhelming MESSAGE like that kinda get to me. i know murrow is kinda the same way, but i love murrow, and it kicks ass, so there.

Murrow is masterpieceful. I like Lindsey's SYW work a lot, the two I don't listen to much are WTWCT and Say Goodbye. (to jingleplink whispery). I think the rest is GREAT. I can't decide if I like Miranda or Murrow or Come best. First it was Miranda, but now I think it's Murrow, and Come is always tied. Plus, if you think about it, Murrow's message is more subtly and artfully expressed. WTWCT just sounds like my lamenting grandma.

i think miranda is my favorite out of all of those, but murrow beats come (heh.). i like say goodbye, but i hate the album version. i think it's much better live, and not in a shippery way ... it's just better slowed down, i think. i agree that SYW is a great album. y'know, a lot of people have made those lists combining SYW tracks with tracks from in the meantime, and although i've heard ITM, i don't think i'd add anything from it to syw, except maybe friend. i'm just not in love with any of it. this is subject to change upon subsequent listenings, though, as i tend to like things more the more i hear them.

not having heard ITM, I can't say, but I agree about SYW. And I, too, like Say Goodbye much better live.
I think the album kicks ass, and that is a good percentage due to Lindsey's work.

Thrown Down as a the first single would have been Brilliant! Her voice sounds great, and the lyrics, music, and production are amazing. I remember when Peace keeper came out, and it was on aol's first listen, and bieng played on the radio first, and there were these messages,and coments saying "now is not the time for Peace, blah, blah war" (obviously, they werent really listening to the lyrics, :take no prizoners, only kill.

It was considered BY SO MANNY HORIBLY IGNORANT PEOPLE "un-american" at the time to even say the word "PEACE". so I dont think many people gave it a chance.because of that. I even had a few people I tried to personally play it for tell me "we dont want to hear any thing that has peace in it.. They shouldnt make songs against the war" GOD I hate ignorance. That song had nothing to do with that. (But hey,I think they should have known to start it off with a stevie single anyway.)
