You've never seen his appearance on 'Center Stage'?

(By the way, what's the real difference? Isn't a guest a guest? Don't get me wrong, I completely understand wanting to see ONLY HIM -- it just seems that if Buckheads are upset that Stevie's presence would take away focus from Lindsey, why not be upset that someone else would do the same thing?)

I agree. I really like Stevie, but I want only Lindsey for this tour. To be honest, her being on the Soundstage was nice and all but it didn't make the show any better for me. She could have been there or not, I don't really care. I mean, I dig her, no question, and I thought she was uber cool on the Tom Petty show- great energy, singing, good chemistry, etc- but I want Lindsey by his friggen self. Sorry.

Ashlee Simpson!!!??! Only out of charity would such a thing be possible. And even then, no way.

I can't speak for the others. But to me, Stevie being there changes the Lindsey dynamic in the same capacity that a fleetwood mac cd doesn't allow him full creativity. I've seen Fleetwood Mac, I've seen Miss Nicks, now it's time for Bucky Boy; unadulterated by the likes of Steeevay! (Whom I also enjoy seeing live, just when it's her own tour.)

Thumbs down NO Guests please!

I don't want anyone extra. Like I said before, no Stevie, no guitar army, no special guests...just Lindsey, is that so much to ask?

Not at all! And it makes perfect sense to me.

He can play the acoustic guitar in a parking lot at Target for Pete's sake! I'm easy to please! I don't care about the album title or any song titles...all I want is the music.

Come on Johnny. All those unrealisic vagina of death-dumbasses will be present. I can't think of anything more disturbing.

Of course I've seen it, but I fully intend to go to at least one of his solo concerts and I'll be extremely angry if, after all these years of waiting for a LB solo tour, Stevie turns up.

Obviously I was kidding about Miss Milli Vanilli. But seriously, I wouldn't mind seeing a special guest. Someone like John Stewart would be cool. Just not Stevie. If he's gonna have Stevie it might as well just be a Fleetwood Mac show and I've already seen three of those.

Also, if she turns up then there may well be an army of her ultra obsessed tunnel vision (I see only Stevie, I care only about Stevie, everything else is of no consequence) fans, many of whom, I'm told, walked out at Lindsey's SoundStage performance once Stevie left the stage.

Note to self: Don't bring the "flesh eating flying vagina of death" joke into the public domain until it's formed a fanbase of some sort.

No. Don't bring the vulva-eating airreaper-remark in relation with a fan that loves Stevie. You should have known better. We even share the same birthday. (what has that to do with this? nothing. we differ 20 years exactly. on the day. )

Well, none of the Stevie fans I know have shown the slightest fear towards Lindsey's armor-piercing rocket-propelled guitarsterbator of destruction. In fact, most of them take to it quite readily.

ITA! Although I wouldn't mind a small backing band like the one on Soundstage (which I still think is what we're going to get). I thought the guitar army was a bit much...I want to hear HIM play...not all these other people.

And lets face it, an appearance by Stevie would just overshadow him, and I don't know if he cares about that, but I don't want it. Would it bring more people to the show? Of course! But when I saw him on the OOTC tour it was one of the best concert experiences of my life. I LIKED that it was in a small setting. I LIKED that it was intimate. I liked that, at the Philly show any, we practically had a dialogue going on with Lindsey...all things that would be impossible if Ms. Nicks showed up.

Now can we just get these f'ing tour dates already!!!

This discrepancy is a puzzle to me. Very puzzling. On his one & only solo tour, Lindsey performed with a bunch of people, which is also what he did on the recent Fleetwood Mac tours. So why does the earlier solo tour seem so satisfying & personal to us whereas the recent Mac stuff--the guitar army--was a drag?

The answer must lie in more than a consideration of mere numbers. In 1993, he had five (or six or seven) guitarists playing along, & yet his own guitar presence was more keenly felt during those shows than it was the last few years. It must have something to do with his musical program. I don't mean his set list but his conception, his schema. The arrangements on the 1992 tour were worked out in such a brilliant way as to keep his own textures throughout (not just the big solos) in the limelight, musically speaking. The other guitarists in some ways seemed to echo his own style; it was like listening to a Lindsey multitrack on CD/vinyl. Even the percussion playing on that tour (as opposed to the recent FM tours) had his signature all over it. The whole sound of those solo shows was designed to present not just his songwriting but his musical style. The same can't really be said of the Dance tour or the Say You Might tour, both of which had this sort of bland, impersonal support that decentered the material & flattened out the idiosyncrasies.

First off, when when I said "guitar army" I meant all the guitarists on the OOTC tour, not the FM tour. But of course the big difference between the OOTC tour and the SYW tour are the venues. I think that had a lot to do with how much more I liked it.

Also on the OOTC tour, Lindsey just seemed really loose and happy. He was downright chatty and there was a lot of back and forth between him and the audience. Try that at a FM concert!

Well...yeah... I mean I really didn't like the guitar army, but even as I was typing my first response I couldn't help but wonder how he could have recreated "All My Sorrows" and "This Is The Time" without it, at least not without over taxing himself.

And, for me at least, I think I just like Lindsey's music the most these days. To me, he's the only one who is still dynamic, still evolving and truly doing new things. I thought the GOS songs were just BRILLIANT while Stevie's newer stuff was just OK. Perhaps that's where a lot of the satisfaction lies as well.

No Stevie on this tour, please. Let LB shine on his own.
