The mystical carousel of dreams

I love the carousel part of the "If Anyone Falls" video! I think its really fanciful. And totally underutilized in that video! The four girls ride it for a grand total of six seconds! That's all! I would have wanted a lot more, including lone shots of Stevie clutching the carousel pole and looking seductively into the camera.

Here are two pictures I have of that scene

I wonder whether they built a mock carousel in the studio or if they actually obtained a real carousel and moved it indoors.

Well, maybe you are not as captivated by the carosel as I am, so we could make this a more general thread about the entire video. What do you think of it?

I love this video. I think I liked the song more back when cause of the video. And yes, I agree, this imagery could have used s'more face time. She looks so pretty. That and when it's a ghostly shot of her that sorta blurs into another one, but then disappears. Where the hell are THOSE pics?!?!?! Woulda rather seen more of that and the carousel than the theatre part.

Carousel...is that how it's spelled??? What a weird word. Prolly latin. Hmm, wonder what's it's derived from.

It usually elicits a few derisive snickers when I state that this is my favorite of Stevie's solo videos, but look at me not caring.

The video is romantic, melodramatic, surreal... and just so, well, Stevie.

I like the video. I had to watch it again to see the pole. You are right, they didn't show that enough. Thanks for sharing your pictures. The video I have doesn't capture that scene very well. I wish I had a better version. This is my favorite part of the video...

holy *bleep* you sig of the video is too die for~ i have always loved this video & remember buying a magazine in the 80's that had tons of pics in it from this video, tons of the carousel shots~ i have to try & dig it out~

I wonder if you are thinking of "Faces" magazine. When that came out, I about died. I belive there are the 2 shots initially posted on the carousel, then a few of her just singing from that video. One is a small shot on the cover announcing the interview between her and MTV VJ Mark Good man. Otherwise if you have anything more from that shoot,,,,,aaaaaaaagh! FIND IT!!!!! lol

The part with Mick and Stevie walking together is also underutilized. It looks like he is Hades ushering Stevie into the underworld. That part should have been extended.

There is so much good imagery in that video, but too often they just show Stevie standing in place,

i think you are right, i found it & it is what you said, "faces"~ man i thought it was the bomb when it came out, great pics of stevie in it~

That one pic of Stevie & Mick in the mirrors has eluded me forever! So amazing. I LOVE that shot. Thanks for the post of it. It's about as good as I ahave come across so far. Still need to find a copy. Anyone have one??? For trade??? For sale???? Hint, hint. =0)
