OK - my friend HAULED me out to see this movie yesterday. It was so bad in a very, very campy way. I do not suggest anyone see it unless you find the idea of four gay guys looking to lose their viginity funny - also, if the thought of the recently incarcerated Richard Hatch in a full frontal nudie shot
is not for you, then avoid this movie ![]() Having said that, one of the guys (the Liza loving twink) has a blind girlfriend that he dresss like La Nicks for this party and she twirls in a cape/shawl and in another scene he hangs an EO17 movie poster as well - though La Nicks is never mentioned by name. So, though raunchy surroundings, a Stevie sighting in yet another gay movie nontheless. http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808745764/info |

I really liked the movie. I think it's more for a gay audience than a straight one, and yes it is very raunchy. I think it's funny when people say a movie or a song is bad simply because they didn't like it. The acting was done well and the jokes were very clever, albiet geared towards a very specific target audience. But it's kind of like seeing Scary Movie without having seen any of the movies that the jokes are referencing, it wouldn't make any sense. But growing up with movies like Porky's, The Last American Virgin, and all the John Huges movies, it's really refereshing to see a movie like that done for gay men.
And yes, I thought the girl looked like she was dressed like Stevie and didn't know if it was intentional until she started spinning around, then I knew it was a loving tribute to La Nicks. Keep in mind this movie was done by the same guy who did Gypsy 83, so you know he's a big fan. |
