Got this from a really reliable source..
Without seeing it on the official web site or on the back of a cd, I'm not saying its 100%, but here goes: The tracklist: 1. "Not Too Late" 2. "Show You How" 3. "Under the Skin" 4. "I Am Waiting" (Rolling Stones cover) 5. "It Was You" 6. "Try For the Sun" 7. "Cast Away Dreams" 8. "Shut Us Down" 9. "Down On Rodeo" 10. "Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind" 11. "Juniper" Re: Now confirmed on Amazon.com. Well done to that person for spotting! ![]() Last edited by nichora; 08-27-2006 at 02:43 AM.. |

Intersting titles...I can't remeber that Stones song though...
Am I just drawing a blank and it's famous?? Or is it a rather buried blues Stones tune like "Love in Vain"..I love that song... Thanks for the info:nod:

Do you really need two CDs for 11 songs? (Unless they're all 15 minutes long?)

I wonder if he re-recorder the tracks FM played/sang on as there are several on there that I think were to be on the longer version of SYW that he wanted to release.

Fair doos. I've been speaking to a bloke on myspace that was talking about Under The Skin being released even before the official site. He's got a promo copy. Please take the info as you wish as I have not heard it myself:
He said: Anything for a fellow Lindsey fan. The album is very thematically unified -- it's primarly acoustic with Lindsey doing all of the vocals himself. There are almost no drums at all. A few of the songs will be recognizable to diehards from the aborted "Gift of Screws" album (though I think "Under the Skin" is a more complete and better record, all told) and "Shut Us Down" from the "Elizabethtown" soundtrack is also here. I'll save extra details for whatever review I might write, but I think it's definitely Lindsey's strongest solo album to date. It's often very beautiful with predictably dazzling finger-picking, but Lindsey himself sounds like he's in a very good place: most of the songs tackle love, mortality, and family in a very compelling and touching way. |

OK.. I may have got a bit over excited!
Its not the greatest most reliable source, but the list sounds a tad more reliable than the last one!! I agree it does seem a little short for a CD album. Perhaps they'll be more added!? Lets hope!! ![]() |

For someone who wants to release his material a la the thought of a double SYW issue - why does he duplicate songs in official releases a la "Bleed to Love Her," "Steal Your Heart Away," and now "Shut Us Down." I mean that was three new songs replaced by reissues of sorts.

Well to me that's a disappointing tracklist if it`s the real one. The only good thing about it is, that there are rumours about a second album in 2007 which I personally only believe when I see it.
11 songs are not that much and then there are just 6 new ones to my ears. Strand I agree with the double publishing a la Bleed to love her. Bring the new ones along instead. I surely hope that the source forgot to mention 4 or 5 tracks.

I agree the list is a little disappointing for new material...
It also explains why his soundstage was delayed for so long since it had 3 of the 11 tracks! |

I'm not trying to indemnify this track listing as bogus but I did notice that a few of these song names are actually lyrics to other songs, one of which is already included on this supposed track listing. For instance, the first song track "not too late" is actually a lyric from "Twist of Fate" and Juniper is used in the line "fly down juniper" in Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind, which has already been listed above. "It was you" sounds strangely similar to "It was I" and Cast Away Dreams sounds too much like it's a poke at Stevie's "Dreams". These aren't based on anything other then observation... Also, for a Lindsey C.D. this isn't that sparse. Law and Order only had 11 tracks, and Go Insane only 9. In addition he'll need some material for another cd. only my opinion

After 14 years 11 songs are sparse. In addition he claimed to write songs like crazy 3 years ago. The second CD... Who believes in that? At least not in 2007. But if there really is one in the making it will morphe into a FM album in 3, 4 or 5 years.

Also, if track #1 is actually "Twist Of Fate" then I take the title change as a wry comment on aging and the gap between the last solo album and this one: "Not Too Late". Of course if this is just a promo copy then someone from the record company probably just hastily scribbled down what he/she thinks are the track titles without asking from Lindsey himself.
