I can't provide any fabulousness, but I'd be more than happy to show anyone around San Francisco and/or give advice on what to see in a limited amount of time.

No, she has a friend Ryan from L.A. that's coming with her to Berkeley.

Oh, whew, I've been waiting to hear.

Jaz, I already have an agenda going. You, naturally, may have a different agenda. Or my agenda may change. But Paula will only be with me for one full day, the rest of the time is either at the shows or after the shows. So it's not really much time to fill. And on Saturday we'll probably meet at the restaurant about 5:00.
Some of us will be meeting a bit more casually before Friday's show - more casually because we will have less time. Paula won't be at my house until 3-4.Eliza is driving up for the show, she probably can't drive up too early. The show starts at 7:00, so that's only a little time to get ready and eat.

Not yet. Bars don't usually have karaoke on Fri and Sat nights. Unless you want to go to some lame bar in the middle of Chinatown on the other side of the bay. I don't, but you're welcome to. I'll check, though. I'd rather go to a cool bar I like than a lame bar with karaoke.

You'd actually go to the Mint, a very fun karaoke institution with fun gay/straight mixed crowd. Not possible for this weekend, obviously, being in SF, but for future reference.

My friend said he always goes there, I've never been. He didn't say they had karaoke on Saturday nights, though. Maybe we can go there. Do they have much Stevie? Is it hard to get to be able to sing?

Yeah, they do karaoke every night. I haven't been there in about a year, but if I recall correctly they have several Stevie/FM songs including Dreams, Stand Back, Landslide, Rhiannon, Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind, Silver Springs, SDMHA.

If you go on the early side, like before 8 or 9, you can pretty much have the mike to yourself. But late night Saturday would probably be quite crowded and a long wait to sing.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking - we probably wouldn't get there till one or 12:30 or something, specially if we eat after. That is a good selection of Stevie songs, though. We'll see what happens, what everybody thinks. I'd love to go, but my objection would be the lack of time - converseley we could be at the Whitehorse real soon after the show/eating, and so we'd have more time in a bar. But unless I'm able to swing something real special, there won't be karaoke there. Not that that ever stops tons of people from singing at the top of their lungs. And if we got to the Mint so late, we probably wouldn't be able to sing anyways.

*sigh* Hey, though, I've wanted to go there for awhile, maybe some random night you and me could hook up and go there? That would be fun.

well, I said that half jokingly. I'm up for whatever, just don't want to be left by my lonesome since it seems everyone has a sidekick or two. my plans so far are:

Friday - arrive around noon, possibly eat with y'all, no concert (though this isn't 100% yet) and go out with y'all afterwards

Saturday - hang out with Paula some if I can (and she lets me) to sightsee and shop or by myself, meet up for dinner and then the concert

that's all I know of...
