Default Churches of the American Midwest

The American Midwest--the Great Plains, the Prairie, the Platte, the Heartland--is dotted with old Baptist churches, standing starkly against the vast expanse of sky.

Please post your photos of these wooden houses of worship, which tell tales of the distant American past, a past that is disappearing. This church is the old Mt. Zion Church, about 25 miles northwest of Albany, Missouri.

New Mexico has some amazing old Catholic Churches...beautiful stone structures that are simple yet just breathtaking - I'll try to track down some photos...even though they're not Baptist churches...ok..maybe I won't - don't want to thread-jack

We have some of the cutest churches here. I don't have photos. Maybe I'll post some later.
