One of the neverending rumours associated with Stevie is that a fan killed himself backstage at one of her shows during the 1998 Enchanted (White Feather) Tour.....
The said fan reportedly snuck backstage and hung himself from one of the curtain ropes whilst Stevie was performing.... So, is this report true or just another Urban Legend associated with Stevie ? ![]() |

Well it is partially true...but it really had nothing to do with Stevie...and man hung himself OUTSIDE the venue either after or during the show...if i remember correctly he was having some sort of dispute with his wife..

It really happened, at the Concord Pavilion show. A lot of fans went to the show & told everybody about it afterward. This guy hanged himself by the power lines near the walk-in entrance to the venue (it's a long walk inside). Some people who went posted to Usenet that they saw the body dangling as they drove out, which must have been highly disturbing. One guy named Tom said that some people were taking pictures & trying to get a closer look, which disgusted him because all he wanted to do was get out of the parking lot & find a bathroom to get sick in.
Here's the wire store from the following day: California man hangs himself at concert CONCORD, Calif. (AP) - As hundreds of people leaving a concert watched in horror, a man shimmied up a pole and hanged himself with car battery jumper cables. The man encountered his estranged wife Sunday night at the outdoor Concord Pavilion, where Stevie Nicks was performing, and the two argued. The woman, who had a restraining order against her husband, reported him to police. By the time officers arrived, the man had taken a set of battery jumper cables and scaled a light pole in a parking lot, said police Sgt. Mike Gamble. "He wrapped one end around his neck and another end around the top of the pole,'' Gamble said. "He was threatening to jump, and security officers were trying to dissuade him from jumping. And at one point he either jumped or slipped and hanged himself.'' The man's name was not released. |

I appreciate getting the true facts about that incident....
I'm sure Stevie was very upset about hearing that. She does have a very caring nature about her.... ![]() |
